Yesterday I had to see a doctor and my friends came to watch my kids for me and then we all hung out in my backyard playing a card game after dinner.

I’ve swapped most networking events for game nights and intimate dinners.

There are people I’ve “small talked” with at over 10 events and don’t know anything about them.

My focus is on the depth of of relationships vs breadth of people I have in my phone.

“Could you call them to ask for help with something non work related?” is my new North Star of a relationship.

Don’t confuse a contact for a friend.
