@tcballard This is really cool…however I created the literal inverse. macOS windows feel weird once you’re used to Linux tiling.
So I built Macarchy. To bring the Omarchy experience to MacOS

The beauty of MacOS can be saved.
Inspired by @dhh's Omarchy, I introduce Macarchy
A beautiful window tiling system with theming for MacOS

Rebuilding a legacy system means preserving business rules buried in decades of code.
Join our October 7 webinar with Aditya Bhatnagar & Zachary Gonzalez to see how we use AI to extract those rules, verify them with domain experts and use them to rebuild the system.

We're opening the doors to our Redwood City office for EVOLVE, an overnight hackathon for experienced engineers to build AI agents and tools that modernize legacy software.

The world runs on software, and most of that software is old, error-ridden, and poorly understood. Entire companies exist not because the original systems were well designed, but because the systems that came before them never quite worked.
At @8090_Factory, we take those huge piles of legacy code, use AI to back-translate them into readable English and explicit rules, then rebuild the system under a governed process so the logic is inspectable, correctable, and ready to run again.
Join me and Zach in this webinar to see how that process actually works.
Join us for a live session on modernizing COBOL and Assembly systems with Aditya Bhatnagar & Zachary Gonzalez from our technical staff.
We'll cover how legacy modernization works across the public and commercial sectors, then walk through our business rules work on CMS's ClaimsCore program as a case study.

Yes, agree. A harness that fosters and acts on the organization’s context will be the key driver of change in the enterprise. Guess what we are building? @8090_Factory
Databricks CEO @alighodsi went off on @a16z pod about enterprise AI adoption:
"They're just so far behind in the adoption curve of actually automating things and getting value out of this stuff."
Ali says most companies are still just using chatbots. There's hardly any agentic transformation.
Why is that?
"The models are smart enough, but they just don't have the context that exists inside of any organization."
"They have not been in every meeting. They don't know what's in everybody's heads. They don't know all the processes."
"If you just fused that and gave that context into the AI models...there's so much productivity gains you could get for any organization on the planet."
Context Creation is the biggest opportunity in AI right now.
Our discovery of fundamental truths is driven by the instrumentations of discovery we hold. Starts from our 5 senses, but it extends to the tech we create to discover the universe
For example, supercolliders were our new instruments to discover the Higgs boson, which wasn’t possible without such new instrumentation
So the consistency theory that we must rely on known forms of human thinking, perception and action may limit us to a box we put ourselves in.
One tool which may break us from this box is @neuralink … Which will help us communicate experiences which are currently limited by our current forms of expression
For example, if you don’t know what the color red looks like, how do I explain to you what it looks like? @elonmusk’s @neuralink may help us communicate such ineffable experiences
So my interest is in creating newer forms of such instrumentation - & the “intelligence” that is dimensionally different may bring us a new instrumentation for discovery for fundamental truths that are yet beyond the scope of human intelligence
AI must break free from current human limitations. That’s where true AGI may stand
The size of change in a poorly architected codebase is proportional to the size of the codebase. The size of change in a well architected codebase is proportional to the size of change itself.
This principle holds even with Agents in the picture.
Big release week for Software Factory:
Major Features
Skills Module
Create and edit agent skills in a dedicated module, collaborate with teammates on them, and publish them to an organization-wide Skills Library for reuse across projects.
Durable Agents
Agents keep running in the cloud when you close your machine, so long tasks finish without you staying connected.
Knowledge Base MCP Tools
Expose your project's Knowledge Base over MCP so external agents and tools can read and search it.
