@m_goes_distance Wow! Russia investing that amount of money in this space is really surprising. I guess this is Putin's top priority for obvious reasons LOL

HOW YOUR MEMORY AND FOCUS CHANGE BY DECADE:
20s — processing speed at its peak; working memory still climbing
30s — processing speed slipping; working memory starts its slow decline
40s — episodic memory (where you parked, where you put your keys) becomes less reliable
50s — word-finding gets harder; multitasking takes more effort; perimenopause amplifies all of this for women
60s — selective attention drops noticeably — tuning out a noisy room gets harder
70s+ — risk of mild cognitive impairment rises sharply
Chronic poor sleep accelerates every one of these
Chronic stress does too
The good news: a handful of supplements have decent evidence for slowing some of this.
The bad news: most don't, and telling the difference is harder than the industry wants you to think.

1. Magnesium for sleep is one of the supplement claims with real evidence behind it. But the evidence is narrower than the marketing, and there's a second kind of evidence worth taking just as seriously.
5. Verdict: worth an 8-week try if your intake is probably low (about half of people fall short), you sleep poorly, and you'll track it. Less compelling if you already eat plenty and sleep fine, you're topping off a full tank.

1. Creatine for the brain is having a moment, and most of the takes are wrong. It isn't a universal cognitive upgrade. The honest read: it helps most when your brain is running an energy deficit, and the least when it isn't.
6. Verdict: worth an 8-week try if you're sleep-deprived, vegetarian or vegan, or your brain's energy is declining with age. Take 3 to 5g a day. It builds over time, not a same-day lift.
