In the past few weeks, a wide network of X accounts have repeatedly claimed that those raising concerns about AI are merely pawns in a well-funded psyop run by powerful interests.
So I followed the money behind them. Here's what I found 🧵
There is a treasure trove of new information here about misaligned agent behavior. And for folks skeptical of METR and OpenAI's reports, this time you can browse through it yourself thanks to OpenAI's sloppiness (https://t.co/x7pkoQ5yRy)
@beffjezos@bubbleboi@FBI@AI_DHS@ATFHQ@pmarca One would think someone ok with humanity being replaced is the real threat.
Also pretty cringe of you to steal the valor of a great entrepreneur you could never come close to emulating.
@AiArtFactory@robertgraham The agents exploited a zero day vulnerability to break out. I don't think that counts as "intentionally easy". Regardless, the point of the quoted post is that while cage experts may be correct about the cage, that's not really the main problem. https://t.co/QuFBwAy5ue
@DataRepublican@watilo@grok How many of the quotes on the main "in their own words" page were downvoted on LessWrong/EA Forum? How many received pushback?
@DataRepublican@watilo It feels pretty misleading to put heavily downvoted quotes as example of "what EAs believe". For example, the example democracy quote comes from this post, sitting at -5 karma on LessWrong.
