If you read mostly non-fiction or classics you'll be one of the most well-informed people anywhere you go on a large number of topics.
The Octopus eye is trash compared to the human eye, and I'm tired of people treating the nerve arrangement like it's some brilliant innovation over ours.
Time for another biology rant
I will tolerate recurrent laryngeal nerve slander no longer! It's actually the result of several elegant solutions to difficult problems in embryology, and the length is a non-issue. A 🧵 1/13
this is the only way to approach modern life is by retard maxxxing primarily cuz optionality pools are so deep that deliberation has become a cost (it used to be an edge). by the time you've mapped the decision tree, the branch you wanted has been pruned.
in simple terms, most ppl just think about doing but never do. but overthinking is latency. & latency kills in environments where the reward function updates faster than your model of it.
Marc Andreessen explains the concept of 'Retard Maxxing'
"Are you aware of the concept of the meme of retard maxing?"
"A friend of mine sent me this thing and he said, 'Oh, here's your answer."
"You're retard maxing.' And I said, 'I'm what?'"
"And he said, 'Oh, watch these videos.'"
"There's this guy on YouTube who has basically 100 videos on retard maxing."
"He's like my new life coach. It's basically just like: go to work, do a good job, come home. It's fine."
"Start a company, succeeds and fails, it's fine."
"Have too much to eat one night, it's fine."
"Ask a girl if she wants to go out with you, if she says no, it's fine."
"It's the simpler form of the extreme ownership."
"It's the form of it that says I don't need to take all this in on myself, I can just let it go."

Engineers and salespeople think in completely different ways.
- Engineers: "If you ask them a question, a hundred percent of them will try and think of what is the correct answer to that question."
- Salespeople: "If you're a salesperson, your first thought isn't: what's the answer? It's: why are you asking me that question?"
"And so if you have an engineer talking to a good sales guy, it's going to upset them. Because they're often not gonna answer the question."
"The guys who are good at the job get rejected, because you don't like them. And then the people who are terrible at it, those are the ones that ended up getting hired."
"These CEOs just wanna take a guy who failed the engineering test, put a clean shirt on him and make him the head of sales."

80% of the people around you are unable to process and understand that for you to lvl up in life
You will have to reinvent yourself at least 1x per decade (2-3x if you are younger). Getting fired, failing in biz, making the wrong decisions… you will have to start over again
Just a heads up that theres no way to undo this, no going back, and no way to stop it because literally no form of government, be it left, right, communist, fascist, monarchist, republican, or liberal has ever relinquished the apparatuses of surveillance.
"Based on the tremendous interest shown, I will be directing the Secretary of War, and other relevant Departments and Agencies, to begin the process of identifying and releasing Government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs)..." - President Donald J. Trump
Ok my favorite feature: Continuity Camera. Use your iPhone as your wireless webcam 👀
And it synthesizes a top-down “desk view” from the ultra wide camera. Sick
