It is astounding to hear the Egyptian bid to control the rainfall in the Nile Basin. But Egypt should be held to acount for the unilateral diversion of the Nile water out of its basin to Sinai Peninsula and to Toshka Valley before any future negotiation on the Nile.

The October 22, 2025 EU-Egypt joint statement sounds a perfect bias towards Egypt's monopoly claim of the Nile waters at the expense of the rights and interests of 10 other riparian. Egypt's water security can best be served by acceding the CFA and joining the Nile River Basin Commission. In the meantime, will the EU tell us if there exists an international law that protects a monopoly of one country against 10 other riparian nations?

We Just Packed Hope — Mission #4 Has Officially Begun

Today, we completed our very first packing session for our fourth cardiovascular mission to Ethiopia, and I’m honestly overwhelmed. I looked around the room, and what I saw wasn’t just a team — it was a movement. A movement made of heart, grit, and purpose.

When I said, three missions ago, “We’re not just building a biannual mission — we’re igniting a revolution in cardiovascular care for Ethiopia and beyond,” I meant it. And here we are, packing for our biggest mission yet, while also holding bold conversations about sustainable infrastructure and long-term training.

But what gives me the greatest hope? It’s our people.

World-class physicians. CEOs and VPs of major corporations. Accomplished healthcare professionals. All rolling up their sleeves, sweating through boxes and tape and gear — united by one goal: to save lives and transform access to cardiovascular care for millions.

And if you want to understand the soul of this mission — let me tell you about Gini - Our incredible secretary and rock of our team, who showed up today with her beautiful newborn, Sloan, while still on maternity leave. That’s the kind of love, dedication, and belief that drives this mission forward.

I can’t put into words how proud I am to be part of this moment — this team — this story in the making.

To our tireless volunteers, brilliant board, our partner hospitals, and industry supporters — thank you. You are the hands and hearts behind this miracle.
