The global Greek startup ecosystem map is here.
Together with @chrisgasteratos, we have identified 1,138 companies founded by people of Greek origin all over the world.

Today, the Hellenic Atlas showcases more than 5,500+ top innovators across science and tech.
We now have scientists and entrepreneurs, the student groups that brewed them, their affiliated institutions and the companies they founded.
Investors, research labs and other important nodes of the system are next.

Everyone talks about Greece’s brain drain.
Together with @chrisgasteratos, we decided to measure it.
Over the past year we mapped a global network of thousands of Greeks in tech and science.
We focused on 3,330 scientists across 650 institutions and 40 countries, a starting sample we could verify easily. 99% already hold or are currently pursing a PhD in a STEM related field. The majority are leading authorities or rising stars in their domains.
These people are found at MIT, Stanford, Imperial, ETH Zurich. Working at Google, IBM, Amazon, Apple, NASA. Leading research across Georgia Tech, CMU, Caltech. And raising the bar at places like TU Delft, University of Toronto and KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
This is not a “loss” of human capital for Greece.
It’s a distributed intelligence network operating at the highest level globally.
This distinction matters: brain drain is something you mourn; a distributed community is something you activate.
The network is far larger, more densely connected and impactful than we think.
So… we built something to bring together the best parts of the global Greek innovation ecosystem.
Today we’re launching Hellenic Atlas → https://t.co/gxo6Qltubs
This is not just a directory. We are building an open platform that includes:
🏛 Agora: a live feed of news, research, raises, projects
🌎 Map: a geography of the GR innovation network
💼 Jobs: open positions by GR scientists, companies and universities worldwide
🗓️ Events: upcoming gatherings, tech meetups and international conferences
Scientists are just the beginning. Founders, technologists, investors, labs, student groups are all next.
This is v1 and still incomplete. But the more the Atlas grows, the stronger the network effects for everyone.
If you know any Greek innovators who should be on here, forward this to them.
@kfountou@chrisgasteratos Thank you! I checked the logs, you are right, not sure why but investigating. I have manually confirmed you now, hope it works.
