It’s your right to hold this position.
It’s also the duty of every conscientious Yoruba son & daughter to ensure your kind never hold political office in Yorubaland.
We’re too religiously diverse to allow any1 who puts faith ahead of ethnicity to lead our people!
I am first and foremost a Muslim. I am an adherent of Islam, an Abrahamic believer, and a Hanif before anything else. Only then am I Yorùbá.
To those who have made it their mission to question the loyalty of Yorùbá Muslims, you may continue your attacks. But know this: for a true Muslim, Islam will always come first. It precedes ethnicity, culture, and nationality because it is the primordial covenant with our Creator.
A Yorùbá Muslim is not conflicted in his identity. He was a Muslim in the divine decree long before he was conceived, and he entered the world as Yorùbá the day he was born to Yorùbá parents. These two identities are not rivals—they are perfectly compatible. One defines his eternal soul and purpose; the other shapes his language, culture, and earthly heritage. Both have their rightful place.
If any Yorùbá Muslim chooses, for whatever reason, to place ethnicity above Islam, then that person has failed to grasp the most fundamental principle of our faith: La ilaha illallah (there is no god but Allah), and nothing has precedence over Him. Such a person's reckoning is with Allah alone.
My identity is clear and unapologetic: Islam first. Always. Everything else follows in its proper order.
If you saw this and you say “Oh but they don’t give opportunities to yorubas in Igbo land”
That’s the point of my tweet.
Nigeria as a whole shouldn’t be doing “Our people, my people” within its borders.
We are all Nigerians and should have access to opportunities regardless of tribe
Shun bigotry
Focus on capacity, credibility, consistency, competency, and character which I possess.
I remain committed towards delivering projects and initiatives that will benefit ALL my constituents irrespective of ethnic and religious affliation.
Clear case for why political & economic power in Yorubaland must remain firmly in the hands of Yoruba people & same for other ethnic nations under “One Nigeria”
He represents the interests of his ethnicity using slot & resources of a different ethnicity he’s not indigenous to!

He is Yoruba, representing the Yoruba brand on a global stage.
We were Yorubas before Nigeria ever came to be and we will never stop being Yorubas!
This gaslighting will not work anymore!
My own is that they should not turn this Tunde Global Brand to a Yoruba Brand. He should not let it happen.
That's what happened to Ogbeni Dipo. The guy was a professional development brand for the globe on this App until you guys forced him to become something else today. It now looks like only Yoruba people patronize him. I remember when they listed him as a speaker with Seyi Law in one Yoruba thing.
There's nothing bad with that, but make una no do that nonsense to Tunde. I pray he doesn't fall into that trap. Make una leave that guy.
Once he starts defending himself or tweeting that he's dragged because he's Yoruba, that's how Dipo went. You people should leave that guy alone.
An Open Letter to the Yoruba People
Before Tinubu became the president of this country, we had ethnic bigotry, a massive one at that. It was not something Nigerians were unaware of.
It existed among the masses, but at least it carried shame. It stayed hidden and only showed up in subtle ways. Our government officials always came out to claim neutrality, even when they were complete bigots. They respected their offices and did not display that bias publicly.
Today, we have presidential aides and other top government officials practicing bigotry in the open. Today, even our police, army, and others alike are doing the same without hiding it. The Nigerian military is the only military in the world that has been frequently community noted on the issue of bigotry. All because an Igbo man is the top opposition leader and a Yoruba man is in power.
The people participating in this public shame are not up to 10% of the Yoruba nation. But they are doing serious damage and shaping the narrative. They are louder than the 90% who are not like them, and because of that, they are shaping how the entire Yoruba race is being seen.
To all the Yorubas who will read this, do not get angry, emotional, or defensive and miss the message.
If you are not a bigot, then it is time to speak up and show it. Make it clear that this 10% does not represent you. If you stay quiet and allow them to keep being this loud, the world will take it as agreement. It will look like the Yoruba nation supports what is happening.
Tinubu does not represent the Yorubas.
Yoruba ronu used to be a good call until Tinubu and the APC turned it into a thing of political shame. The Oro festival and the Oro deity used to be revered Yoruba culture until Tinubu and the APC turned them into a thing of political shame. The Oba of Lagos used to mean something in the world until Tinubu and the APC turned it into a thing of political shame.
Yorubas, how many parts of your culture are you going to allow the APC and this man to destroy before you rise up and take action?
I would have called “Yoruba ronu,” and it would have fit perfectly for this message, but unfortunately, Tinubu has taken that away, and now that Yoruba cultural call is linked to shame.
The time to rise up is now before it is too late.
Yoruba Ronu ✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽
I was born, bred, buttered in Lagos & I’m Yoruba. If you ask me where I’m from, I’ll always tell you I’m from Offa in Kwara state. I never refer to myself as a Lagosian or an indigene of Lagos.
You can’t be an indigene of a place unless you’re indigenous to the land!
Burna Boy is an absolute legend of his craft. Attended his show in Perth & his performance was nothing short of greatness.
The backlash he’s getting is self inflicted & well deserved. I hope he learns his lessons from it.
In all, he’s an African Giant we can’t afford to lose!
RE: Burna Boy's Polarising US Tour
My repeated criticism of Burna Boy has always been in his best interest. I give him tough love because he is the one—the most gifted of his generation, our very own Lisan al-Gaib, flying Nigeria’s flag by imposing his creative will on the world.
Even as he walks through a self-lit fire on this US tour, I’m drawn to the symbolism of his existence and why his defence of Nigerian music’s global ambitions remains our last cultural tent-pole. He has played a silly hand, and much of the backlash is deserved. When you invite people to commune with your art, their dignity must be assured.
Yet I sense a growing glee in “showing him he’s nothing.” False rumours of venue cancellations spread, and last night the general joy at his struggles was shocking. I’ve opposed Burna many times, but always as a cultural corrector—his actions speak for themselves. Because we give him so much, we demand the basics: give us music, perform with abandon, treat us right.
But I don’t want him to fail. He may not fully grasp how he carries the dreams of millions of his countrymen—creators who see no ceilings, consumers bursting with cultural pride. He is Nigeria’s “Afrobeats to the world” vanguard whose work has elevated a nation and instilled global pride in our culture. Afrobeats wiped our collective shame, rewrote Nigeria’s image, and made us cool worldwide. Burna’s catalogue carried that weight.
With Afrobeats now fully globalised—spliced and remixed far from Lagos, new centres emerging—our grip on the top tier is loosening. Artists like Burna still make the case for authentic local sounds.
Touring is brutal, and Afrobeats attendance has been dropping. Burna’s tour remains our best shot at a proper, high-level US run that showcases the finest artistry from these parts.
This wasn’t his proudest moment, for an artist from a culture already swimming against the business tide. But big picture? He’s too important to the culture. While I continue to hold him to account, I recognise his movement is bigger than this moment.

"I predict that every multi-lingual or multi-national country with a unitary constitution must either eventually have a federal constitution based on the principles of federalism, or disintegrate, or be perennially afflicted with disharmony and instability- Obafemi Awolowo, 1968.
@Mz_Tosyn Guaranteed one of the most beautiful countries on planet earth if you ever decide to visit. Yes there are snakes, spiders & other creatures you don’t see in other places but they mind their business most times unless you find trouble 😂.
Put Australia on your radar for a visit!
