🏆🇮🇹 Italian urology shines at #AUA26!

The study presented by @danieleamparore during the prestigious Early-Career Investigators Showcase at the American Urological Association Annual Meeting in Washington DC has been awarded the 1st Prize of the session.

The presentation focused on AI-enhanced augmented reality for precision robotic prostatectomy, highlighting the growing role of artificial intelligence and advanced imaging integration in robotic urologic surgery.

An important international recognition for Italian urological research and for the new generation of investigators driving innovation in our field.

3 studies testing Perioperative immune bases therapy (EVP or Gem/Cis/Durva) in muscle invasive bladder all have shown an OS advantage vs standard of care. KN905 (EVP) is distinct in that it’s in a cisplatin ineligible population (accounting for the poor performance of the control arm). It’s also a smaller trial. The control arm of KN-B15 performed slightly better than NIAGARA (Gem/cis for both), but the trials are otherwise similar. The pCR in the EVP trails and the consistent efficacy of EVP is striking. #GU26

Multicentre study evaluated robot-assisted radical cystectomy using the Hugo RAS robotic platform in 29 patients undergoing lymph node dissection and intracorporeal urinary diversion. Surgical outcomes demonstrated acceptable operative times, hospital stay, and complication rates comparable to established robotic systems.

Despite early adoption, the platform required no procedure-specific modifications, supporting its safety and feasibility and suggesting Hugo RAS represents a viable alternative for complex robotic #BladderCancer surgery.

Meaning, the ones who are experiencing toxicities (not everybody being treated with RT) have frequently severe symptoms. Relevant for tx and f-up!!

@ISchwartzmann, l’uròleg de la Fundació Puigvert que ha dut a terme la intervenció ahir amb respresentació europea de @BSCEMEA_Urology, l'únic fabricant d'aquesta tecnologia mínimament invasiva pel tractament de la patologia:

🗨️“Ens permet millorar els símptomes miccionals alhora que el pacient conserva l'ejaculació, un efecte col·lateral freqüent dels tractaments estàndard.”
Sobre l’experiència d’operar amb el nou dispositiu, afegeix que és “més fàcil de manipular i facilita el treball de l’equip auxiliar i d’infermeria”.

🔘La Fundació ha estat pionera a nivell estatal en l’ús d'aquesta teràpia tèrmica amb vapor d'aigua des dels seus inicis i fa anys que realitza estudis per a millorar els resultats clínics en els pacients.
