I read 500+ pages of memos from billionaire investor Howard Marks.
They contain so much wisdom on investing and life that Warren Buffett reads every one.
Here are 8 lessons I learned:
I’m officially at the age I don’t want to be around people who are not self aware. Continuously putting themselves in bad positions, making bad life choices, toxic ways/lifestyles, no priorities lacking accountability etc.
in 2022 i’m less accessible than ever. I can’t keep doing right by people who treat others like they’re disposable. i value my time, my energy, and my feelings. so if you don’t value them the same i can’t fuck with you anymore.
i never wanna lose the side of me that stays curious. i wanna learn a new thing forever. i wanna dip my feet in new waters, just to see if it’s the right temperature for me. i want to create a new memory, everywhere i go, whether it be good or bad.
1/ Many of us are trying to make sense of what’s happening in the markets these days. Here are some observations and moves we’ve recently made to continue our work:
Gen X: I met my spouse at a bar.
Millennial: I met my spouse on a dating app.
Gen Z: I met my spouse in a DAO we both joined to buy the U.S. Constitution.
Learning how to leave people alone and go on with your life is a needed skill. Master it. If they need space/time, give it to them. Don't force anything. What flows, flows. What crashes, crashes. Let everything happen naturally. Be patient. The best things happen unexpectedly.
