Control groups in cancer clinical trials don’t take placebos. They are given the standard of care. The new treatment will be compared to the current standard of care. If the new treatment proves to be better it could potentially replace the current standard of care.

Access: Patients parking by libraries etc for wifi to log in/see records (sigh)

Tech: Struggles w/ virtual + time wasted → devolves to phone call & lose face-to-face humanism

It appears we are a week or so behind Italy. A ban on flights from Europe isn’t going to change that. More decisive federal action — massive testing and social distancing — appears to be necessary to “flatten the curve.”

9pm Italy, we were given 48hrs to shut down the @BardelliLab, I wanted to be last to leave, and now is time to go. I said goodbye to my post docs, PhDs, techs, we are all part of a worldwide family. I will miss my team and look fwd to continue the fight against #cancer from home!
