@Keg767 in the UK they are sold year-round and people are perfectly happy with that. I have never understood the Australian faux outrage on this topic. If people don’t like them then just don’t buy them!

@petchmo the reason for the Emirates u-turn into UK airspace is likely the lenders took English law security over the aircraft and English case law normally requires the aircraft to be in UK airspace for the aircraft mortgage to be effective (I am Simplifying a bit)
@petchmo the security / mortgage can be done outside UK airspace but it just requires extra hoops to jump through and some lenders don’t want the hassle. The extra paperwork by the lawyers might cost more than the cost of a few extra tonnes of AvGas being burnt for the detour,
