For a long time, the Kikuyu community enjoyed the benefits of being in government without giving much thought to other communities. President Ruto has said no to that approach. Usawa kwa Wote — Equal opportunities for all Kenyans!
The Lake Victoria Basin presents significant opportunities for economic growth through fisheries, maritime transport, tourism and other blue economy activities.
Realising this potential requires stronger maritime security, effective management of shared resources and stakeholders cooperation to combat cross-border crime, protect livelihoods and create an enabling environment for investment and economic development.
Held a consultative meeting with the Beach Management Units (BMU) leader and members from Suba North and South Constituencies, Homa Bay County.
I was accompanied by the Nyanza Regional Commissioner (RC) Onesmus Musyoki Kyatha; Homa Bay County Commissioner (CC) Mr. Ronald F. Mwiwawi, LBDA Managing Director CPA Wycliffe Ochiaga among other leaders and National Government Administrative Officers (NGAOs).
Since its inauguration in 2024, Mazingira Day has strengthened collective action towards climate change mitigation and environmental conservation.
Through initiatives such as the Chiefs' Climate Action Day, which brings National Government Administrative Officers (NGAOs) together with local communities to protect green spaces, and Climate WorX, which engages young people in conserving our blue spaces, Kenya continues to advance practical solutions for a sustainable environment.
The green on our national flag symbolises the importance of our natural heritage to national prosperity. Our ambition for a Kenya Beyond Vision 2030 can only be realised in an enabling environment where natural resources are protected, communities thrive and development is sustainable.
As we mark Mazingira Day 2026, let us renew our shared responsibility to protect our environment for present and future generations.
Happy Mazingira Day!
Forest conservation and restoration are vital to protecting Kenya's water sources, biodiversity and climate.
Through H.E. President @WilliamsRuto's ambitious target of planting 15 billion trees by 2030, the Government seeks to expand forest cover, restore degraded landscapes and secure a greener, more sustainable future for generations to come.
As part of the 3rd Mazingira Day celebrations, I presided over a tree-planting exercise at Lambwe Forest in Homa Bay County.
Sifuna is making late-night calls seeking a return to ODM party , yet some people are still busy shouting, “Sisi ndo Sifuna” Bwana, wewe ni Kinuthia Waweru. Empty!
— The solidity of the ODM Party will become clearer to all — especially to those who were duped to abandon Baba’s party for the many insignificant briefcase parties all over — as we head towards the polls. Ours is an old, tested mass movement; built by the people for the people. We lost Baba to the heavens, but Baba’s spirit is with ODM and the people. We shall retain all our Western Kenya seats from Trans Nzoia to Vihiga. Ahsante Kakamega for showing up for Baba and for the ODM Party.
TUKO TAYARI.
Testimonials on the ground for President William Ruto are more than talk. Sugarcane farmers are already seeing the difference. What are the opponents going to tell the electorate? Ruto KUMI Bila BREAK.
