When you stop reading books, you start losing verbal dexterity, depth of thought and imagination. A closed book is a closed mind. Don't EVER stop reading.
I love books that make me forget the outside world.
Books that teach me new words and pronunciations.
Books that completely immerse me.
Books that speak to me so deeply that I have to pause and simply soak in the words.
Something I told 14 yo: People are going to stop reading books. I wish this wasn't so, but I fear it is. The silver lining in this cloud is that if you're one of the few people who still read, you'll have a huge advantage over everyone else.
@ThrillaRilla369 Someone pointed out once that when people mispronounce terms, it's not always that they are uneducated, but self-educated, and only saw it in written form when reading, so assumed the pronunciation. I actually have respect for this.
