I predicted this months ago:
The highest-paying jobs today may be first in line for AI disruption.
GPU kernel engineers used to get million-dollar offers. Now AI agents can self hill climb, write better kernels, and top the leaderboard.
(We didn’t even use Fable or GPT-5.6)
My co-founder @rxin personally wrote this really good paper that explains the main idea behind postgres Lakebase as well as LTAP. It almost serves as a primer on how transactional databases are built and how Lakebase and LTAP work. Maybe more importantly, what are the tradeoffs, and what are you giving up by adopting this new approach. Highly recommended reading:

GLM-5.2 is the open-source Claude moment.
The demand we’re seeing at Databricks is astonishing. The world is going to see massive adoption of oss LLMs.
Also, more companies will shift toward post-training their own models on top of oss models and owning the weights.
Update from my post from 2 months ago when Genie Code just passed the threshold of being half the code generated on @databricks. Attached the new update from today, AI is now 3x the code written by humans on the platform!
You may have heard that GLM-5.2 at 328 token/s is cool,
How about 392?
Databricks is now #1 in inference speed for GLM-5.2 on Artificial Analysis. It's a great model, and we did a lot of optimizations.
I am super excited to announce that we have agreed to acquire Neon, a developer-centric serverless Postgres company. The Neon team engineered a new database architecture that offers speed, elastic scaling, and branching and forking. The capabilities that make Neon great for developers are also great for AI agents.
Together, we'll deliver an open, serverless database foundation for developers and AI agents.

Coming from a French culture that values beauty and craftsmanship above all else has helped me appreciate this deeply. When you birth products for billions of people, you have a responsibility to make them not just useful but also beautiful. Taste is not optional.
BREAKING NEWS: This is an announcement that has been decades in the making.
On December 5, 2022 a team from DOE's @Livermore_Lab made history by achieving fusion ignition.
This breakthrough will change the future of clean power and America’s national defense forever.

Reference Checks are a highly under-utilized method for candidate evaluation
They are typically only used at the end of the process (if at all)
This is wild because you are often leaving super relevant signal out of the final decision
How can you do better?
Really exciting milestone for a company I greatly admire - They are solving a very gnarly problem that almost every company needs to solve, but doesn’t really want to by themselves because of the complexity involved.
