Very cool! Yeah HIE would be nice. I think the hardest part of doing this as a one off doc in the system is that I don’t want to enter all the meds that are already in Epic back to your app one by one
Bulk adding or add by photo would be nice but tbh inpatient medicine may not be your target market anyways
I haven’t played with this yet cause still waiting to get my access in @doximity but this does seem like a great idea
maybe not so much for inpatient medicine since i can order everything one click via epic but it’s helpful for patients who want more control over how they get their meds
not sure how this would feedback to the EMR (ie if i order via photon how does Epic know this and can i carry over their meds from Epic?) i’m sure they’ve thought about this and likely is a feature so i’m hyped to test it out
To me, Photon is such an obvious thing that should exist in healthcare
Instead of doctors calling a bunch of pharmacies individually and coordinating your prescription, they send the prescription to a wallet the patient controls.
Then the patient can choose which pharmacy to send it to, and can shop around with that prescription.
I usually don't shill portcos like this, but I don't think they get enough shine tbh
@ryancarson we actually use gemini models for medical summarization in production (have been using it for a while - the flash models are great)
good prompts and context management go a long way
haven’t used it for dev work though
