Hi @HDFC_Bank , ₹1,000 deducted for low balance charges recently, though I maintain ~₹17,000 now. As a loyal customer, this feels harsh. Requesting a one-time waiver otherwise I may consider switching banks.
The Strait of Hormuz has been closed for 8 days. Everyone thinks this is about oil. This is about what oil becomes. 92% of the world's sulfur comes from refining oil and gas. Close the Strait of Hormuz and you don't just lose 20 million barrels of crude per day. You lose the feedstock for sulfuric acid, the single most produced chemical on Earth. Sulfuric acid is how we extract copper. It's how we extract cobalt. Without it, you can't make transformers, EV batteries, or the substrates inside every data center on the planet. One chemical, made from one feedstock, shipped through one chokepoint. The cascade goes further: Qatar ships 30% of Taiwan's liquefied natural gas through Hormuz. Taiwan has 11 days of reserves left. TSMC, the company that makes 90% of the world's advanced chips, draws 8.9% of Taiwan's total electricity. No gas, no power, no chips. Then food. 33% of the world's nitrogen fertilizer feedstock moves through the Strait. Half of all humans alive today exist because of synthetic nitrogen. Sulfur, semiconductors, food. That makes three supply chains, one 21-nautical-mile chokepoint, and zero domestic alternatives at scale.
A carpenter in his house refused to use Fevicol.
He insisted on a brand Atul had never heard of.
That one moment led Atul Raval (@AtulDRaval) to buy a stock at ₹40 that grew to around ₹4,000.
He visited the company's tiny 9x9 office to understand one thing - how were they surviving against Pidilite (Fevicol's parent company)?
The answer was genius.
Instead of fighting with massive ad budgets they couldn't afford, they went straight to the carpenters - the real decision makers.
Buy enough of our product, earn points. Points get you mixers, ovens, fridges.
No advertising spend. No price war. Just loyal carpenters recommending the brand to every client.
Same quality as Fevicol. Better margins. Quietly expanding across 12 states.
The market hadn't noticed yet.
Atul did.
Wealth isn't built by buying the obvious monopoly.
Sometimes it's built by finding the smart disruptor hiding right behind it.
Our full conversation with Atul Raval is now live on my YouTube Channel.

contagion into markets with no "fertilizer" in their risk models.
Allocators modeling Hormuz as an energy event are running the wrong scenario. This is a food security event with an energy trigger.
The timeline is not weeks. It is quarters.
How does the shutdown of the Qatar LNG facility impact Indian stocks?
India relies on Qatar for ~35–40% of its LNG imports, so this is a major supply shock
Qatar itself produces ~82 million tonnes of LNG annually — about 20% of global supply.
Unlike oil, natural gas has very limited storage capacity, meaning supply disruptions impact the market almost immediately.
India likely has very limited LNG inventory, increasing vulnerability to supply shocks.
1. Petronet - Worst impacted
Around 50% of Petronet’s volumes come from Qatar, making it the most exposed.
A one-month disruption could cut annual volumes by ~5–6%.
That could translate to ₹1–2 EPS impact on annual earnings.
2. Gujarat Gas
Likely to face higher spot LNG prices, making imports expensive and potentially unviable.
3. GAIL
Gas transmission and marketing volumes could decline, though some segments may benefit from higher LPG and petrochemical prices.
4. City Gas Companies
Companies like MGL may see limited impact, but supply tightness could affect industrial demand.
Reports says the plant could take about two weeks to restart and another two weeks to reach full capacity.
That implies roughly a one-month supply disruption window.
