J Sai Deepak 6 saal se jail mein nahin hai. J Sai Deepak Supreme Court mein advocate hai, literature ke award jeet raha hai.
Jis din J Sai Deepak jail mein 6 saal bita le, aur Sharjeel Imam Supreme Court mein baith kar award jeet le, log donon ko khushi se compare kar lein.
Ek saal se lynching aur mosque demolition normalise hua pada hai. SIR mein muslim targeting bhi hai. Par inko jail mein baithe hue bande ke interview mein pyaaz ke chhilke nikaalne hain. Isiliye sanghi log inke pankh noch ke, nangi murgi ki tarah apne aangan mein dauda lete hain.
Saying this again. Chaar din se Sharjeel Imam pe jugaali kar rahe ho. SIR ka itna bada movement khada kiya hai, BJP-RSS-Godi Media-IT Cell ke totey udey hue hain. Apne hi discourse ko mitti mat karo. Umar Khalid narrative is not working for centrists, so Imam has been brought up.
Main yeh sauvi baar kah raha hun: Agar Modi le aata Vikas, chauraahe par agar hazaar musalmaan bhi goli maar kar dher kar diye jaate, yeh log uss par collateral damage ka op ed likh kar baat ko rafa-dafa kar dete. Woh toh inko nanga nacha diya hai sanghiyon ne, isliye rote hain.
Tell the time Indian Muslim politicians do not have an ideology. There is no future for Muslim politics in India
@syedasimwaqar knows very clearly that @asadowaisi was referring to the Muzaffarnagar riots & was attacking the whole of @samajwadiparty
Asim has betrayed UP Muslims
And yet Modi will fly to another Arab country to inaugurate another grand temple and lecture the world on how happy Muslims are under his government. The irony is obscene.
Liberals are using words like "traitor" and "terrorist" for Sharjeel Imam because he criticized constitution.
Same Liberals have never used these terms for big Hindutva leaders who openly talk about turning India into a Hindu Rashtra.
So much has changed in this country in the last few weeks of protests. Yet one thing remains untouched and unchallenged: the persecution of Muslims by the state.
This is the bitter, heartbreaking truth 200 million Indian Muslims are forced to live with. Every single day.
Much of the criticism (now) being directed at Sharjeel Imam comes from people who have never actually read his work. Even for those who have, critiquing a constitutional democracy and the foundations of the Indian nation-state is a normal part of political debate and academic discussion and not a crime.
This constant demand for Indian Muslims to practice respectability politics simply to fit into the 'mainstream' discourse is deeply flawed, as it has entirely failed to prevent their political, social, and economic exclusion.
Imam should never have been targeted by the state for his views, and after spending six years in prison on these bogus charges, he does not owe anyone an explanation.
Why does this Congress spokesperson not talk about the part of the speech where the activated NRC in Assam is mentioned, the detention camps in Assam are talked about, the violence against Bengalis (both Hindu and Muslim) is pointed out. Why doesn’t anybody else do that too.
Delhi's Race Course Mosque, 500 meters from Prime Minister's Residence, gets 6-Day Eviction Notice
This Hindutva Government and the Hindutva Project is nothing but a land grab project.

On 9 August 1925, the Number 8 Down train rolled out of Shahjahanpur towards Lucknow. Near a village called Kakori, ten young revolutionaries pulled the chain. They took about ₹8,000 of British treasury money, meant for the empire, to fund the fight against it.
One of them was Ashfaqulla Khan, a 24-year-old Pathan poet who wrote Urdu verse under the name Hasrat. He had argued against the plan. But when his comrades decided, he stood with them, beside his closest friend, Ram Prasad Bismil.
Bismil was an Arya Samaji. Ashfaq was a devout Muslim. At first Bismil didn’t trust him. Ashfaq kept coming back until suspicion turned into brotherhood. He called him simply “Ram.”
The British struck back hard. Forty people were arrested. Ashfaq ran, and stayed hidden for 16 months. Then, in Delhi, a Pathan friend from his hometown betrayed him for the reward. He was arrested on 7 December 1926.
In custody, a police officer, Tasadduq Hussain, offered him a way out: Bismil is a Hindu, he is fighting for Hindu rule, so testify against him. Ashfaq refused. Bismil was his brother, he said, and even Hindu rule would be better than British rule.
Four men were sentenced to death in the Kakori case. On 19 December 1927, Ashfaq walked to the gallows in Faizabad jail with the Quran in his hands. He kissed the rope and said:
“My hands are not soiled with the murder of man. The charge against me is false. God will give me justice.”
Asked for his last wish, he recited a couplet:
Kuchh aarzoo nahin hai, hai aarzoo to yeh hai,
Rakh de koi zara si khak-e-watan kafan mein.
(I have no other desire but this: that someone place a little soil of my homeland in my shroud.)
The same day, in Gorakhpur jail, Bismil was hanged too.
Two faiths. One country. Ashfaq was just 27.
Ironic that we are debating Sharjeel’s claim about the constitution being fascist, while he’s in jail for almost 7 years without trial. Doesn’t that prove his point?
Indian Muslims are often one word or one sentence or one paragraph away from being termed as an Islamist (whatever the hell Islamist means.)
We are one day away from complete discrediting of our entire lives as human beings.
It’s a lesson you’ve taught me over and over again.
The imam of Race Course Masjid has served as the imam of this 125-year old heritage mosque for more than 40 years, leading prayers and delivering Friday khutbas. He isn't getting help from Waqf Board. WB is a heavily influenced govt body and it has no willingness to act.
Sharjeel Imam is not a solitary case. This tradition of extremist labelling and moral slandering of any muslim voice that refuses to sing the holy songs of liberalism is an old one. This tradition shall continue perpetually, as it is not considered a problem in the first place.
