🚨New: The Spotsylvania County School Board voted 4-3 against requiring drug testing for new hires and rehires.

They also voted against drug testing elementary school teachers and staff who work with special needs children.

The question of drug testing school employees is something the school board has been grappling with since a 2nd grade teacher overdosed from fentanyl in her classroom a couple of years ago. The teacher was convicted and sentenced to two years behind bars for possessing drugs in school and being intoxicated in class.
