I am deeply grateful to all coauthors and collaborators @University of Verona for their dedication, expertise, and teamwork throughout this project. A special thank you to our funding agencies, @AIRC_it and #FIS3, for making this work possible.
🚀 I'm over the moon to share that our latest research has been published in Molecular Cancer!
📝 Metabolic plasticity underlies ferroptosis resistance driven by mutant p53 in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma
by Adriana Celesia et al.

We show that pharmacological reactivation of wild-type p53 disrupts this adaptive program, restores ferroptosis sensitivity, and significantly enhances cancer cell death both in vitro and in vivo.
In our study we demonstrate that mutant p53 promotes resistance to ferroptosis by orchestrating a metabolic adaptation that preserves mitochondrial function and rewires cellular metabolism. This metabolic plasticity enables pancreatic cancer cells to withstand ferroptotic stress.
Thrilled and grateful to share that I’ve been awarded a FIS3 Grant (€1.3M) for the FerroPan project!
In the next 5 years, we’ll explore ferroptosis and metabolic pathways to push toward a real shift in PDAC therapy.
Looking forward to 5 years of exciting science🔥
Excited to share our study showing that dietary depletion tryptophan has profound effects on liver cancer. Tryptophan fuels MYC-dependent liver tumorigenesis through indole 3-pyruvate synthesis https://t.co/gzcuNC0LXy
Thank you @Zhu_Lab, @RJDLab, @ASolmonson, and Jerry Shay
After ~12 years of hard labor, lots of push back and excitement, we are pleased to present our paper showing a new mechanism for the many features of asthma that came out in Science today with an awesome review by Jeffrey Drazen and Jeffrey Fredberg.https://t.co/weExktome9

Happy to share a link to our recent article published in Oncoimmunology 😉. We demonstrated the ability of immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy to mitigate systemic inflammation and impair MDSC dependent immunosuppression.🎯

Do you want to learn about how regulated tryptophan metabolism controls immune responses? This review coalesces a lot of very new, and older, research to give an overview of IL4i1 and IDO1 immunometabolism. https://t.co/v5Xzvklb17

Delighted to see our last review online in Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy: "To metabolomics and beyond: a technological portfolio to investigate cancer metabolism". Excellent job of @Federica_Danzi 🔥 https://t.co/Dush6yazhC
📣Beyond excited to share that my #MFGA has been funded. For the next 5 years we'll be working on understanding the role of mutant p53 in regulating ferroptosis in #PancreaticCancer📣#myfirstgrant#Airc Thanks to @AIRC_it and @UniVerona
