Justin, the fact that Solana scan didn't want to show downtime is the way the Solana team designed it to save themselves embarrassment of officially acknowledging that it has gone down, again!

FACT is that it was down ('stuck' if that is the new term for it) for almost 40 minutes, without any transactions possible! (see below screenshot).

This, in turn, created a backlog of tx's. Some of us waited over 46 hours to get USDC from CEXs to Solana wallet (this personally happened to me, see screenshot).

Also, to say nobody is doing what Solana is doing is not factual.
Some networks are doing more and are capable of sustaining high tx loads while also being decentralised.
Eg. Algorand handled multiple times over 10kTPS load, with max TPS recorded of 14,722. No degregation in performance was observed. (see screenshot)

More to the point;
If Solana is so great, why real-world projects that are adopting #blockchain tech tend to gravitate to Algorand and other L1s, and are using it now?

Talk indeed is cheap, in real-world adoption of #blockchain tech Algorand overdelivers, and few others L1s deliver.

The problem is that you do not want to acknowledge what is going on in real-world adoption of #blockchain tech, and choose to support the chain that is barely fit to handle memes, never mind real-world adoption.

At what point will we see you posting about eg. @travelx__ and the fact that 3 airlines allready are using blockchain tech to issue NFT Aeroplane tickets. So far, over 100m people have used it with over 20M tickets issued!
Or, @HesabPay_ being used by 500k+ people that were previously unbankable (40% of utilty bills in Afghanistan are paid via it)
Or, that @exodus have tokenised their stock on #Algorand that has been recently listened on NYSE.
Or, @lavazzagroup using Algorand rails to track some of their coffee supply.
Or, @Mastercard using
Algorand.
Or, @FIFACollect using #Algorand rails to issue FIFA memorable moments with ability to secure tickets for next World Cup. So far over 1.3m NFTs have been issued to 38k+ unique users.

I feel like there’s a coordinated effort in crypto to not talk about the underlying technology. Not sure why this is.

I’ve seen viral posts this week:
1, #BTC users being charged days worth of pay to transact (@MarceMR19) .
2, NFT minting fees @jwpark02 (it’s okay— Algorand was omitted 😅).
3, Countless threads on rising #Ethereum gas (mostly caused by a meme token) which makes adoption impossible in #ETH’s current form.

If we’ve already accepted that the future is multi-chain, why don’t we use better tech? Lots of GAS ⛽️ complaints from Ethereum users… If we don’t like it, we do something about it… right? Just can’t keep on complaining that so many blockchains are unusable.

The @AlgoFoundation has grown leaps and bounds over the last year. Let's take a look:

1. We wanted decentralization... 1 click nodes coming.
2. We wanted a voice in governance... xGov update today.
3. We wanted developers... we got @reachlang and now #AlgoKit along with the best Dev Rel.
4. Universities? Algorand has partnered with Yale, Purdue, UC Berkley, Monash, Carnegie Mellon and other top schools targeting the best and brightest minds in the world thanks to the ACE Program.
5. We wanted more transparency... already 2 community all-hands webinars in 2023 from the @AlgoFoundation. Much more transparency coming.
6. We wanted more funding... Algorand Ventures is the new program dedicated to providing funding and launch support to the best builders and investors in the Algorand ecosystem. There will even be a community grant proposal process. More transparency and a voice in funding.
7. We wanted more 1-on-1 time... @StaciW_DC has been meeting with projects personally each week.

9. We wanted more of Silvio... @silviomicali stated he's stepping up more in day to day operations.
10. We wanted more exposure for @Algorand outside of the Algorand community... look what happened today. Beautiful.

#Algorand is stepping up. This is not the same Algorand as years ago. Constantly improving, growing, adapting... becoming a well-oiled machine that is just getting started. Am I saying everything is perfect? No. Am I tired of seeing so much negativity on social media? Yes. Is there room to improve more? Absolutely. There is so much good out there... focus on the good... so many great people working hard each day. We can each do our part to help grow @Algorand into something beautiful.

It takes a village. I am grateful to all of you, even the haters, and even the people who do not share my same viewpoints. Your thoughts and ideas are also valid. Let's give each other some slack, as we all see the world through different lenses. Regardless of what conclusions each of us make, we are all TEAM ALGO... we may just show it in different ways.
