Brasil, 3,5 anos depois. Imagina em 8?
As the climate crisis worsens, an increasing number of people are being forced to flee their homes due to extreme weather events, such as cyclones and droughts.
On today’s #RefugeeDay and beyond, we must act now to prevent further climate-caused displacement.
O discurso oficial caducou.
Africa is not poor... but multinational corporations “steal” much of its wealth – legally – by pretending they are really generating their wealth in tax havens.

We must address #neocolonialism if we want a sustainable future
This graph’s salience is evergreen. If you dislike soy, monocultures, etc., the animal feed industry should be the target of your ire. 37% of global soy goes toward chicken feed.
The world produces enough food to provide every person with more than 2,300 kilocalories per day. However, poverty and inequality – structured by class, gender, race and the impact of colonialism – have resulted in an unequal access to Earth's bounty

If in the next 15 years the we gradually phased out livestock, switching to a plant-based food system at the same time, the world would experiment the same effect as a 68% reduction on the carbon emissions by 2100 #govegan

@_HannahRitchie And also, the production of feed for livestock was accounted under beef? Appreciate if you can answer, and thank you very much for the work you do!
@_HannahRitchie Hi @_HannahRitchie , I have a question about this. In this graph, you are considering only deforestation caused by the production of food commodities, right? Not counting, let's say, logging and mining. Or can we say 41% of overall tropical deforestation is caused by beef?

Dismissing those advocating for significant reductions in meat in rich countries as hurting food security in poor countries or remote regions is manipulative and a form of appropriation, unsurprisingly disproportionately used by white ranchers and academics in rich countries.

Starting today, we will release a series of postcards that define our 25 years of collective struggles for food sovereignty. Illustrated and prepared by Rosanna Morris, these postcards will shed a light on different pillars of this struggle and what it intends to achieve.
"Our approach to the future of food cannot focus just on things like crop choices, consumer options, or tech-sector delivery apps. We need to be working on market structures, questions of racial justice, and decolonization in the food system." https://t.co/IrwvTygBFu
