✅CSU-ALS is an emergency protocol used in place of ACLS for patients within 10 days of sternotomy who undergo cardiac arrest.
✅Trained staff - APPs, residents, intensivists, RNs - perform an emergency resternotomy, aiming to be in the chest within 5 minutes of arrest.
✅Suitable in ICU or stepdown/acute care, depending on staff/acuity.
