We're hiring engineers/design engineers to build tools on the Design Foundations team at @mercury -- we're a team redefining the craft of our UI, creative product expression, and how we build products.
Are you obsessed with building custom design tools? Are you using AI to fine tune expressive interaction patterns?
lets talk.
Creating an app to navigate FBC files from Control and the Remedy Connected Universe and couldn't help but chuckle at my agent thinking its thoughts should be redacted like the files π
In summer 2025, I started working on how to integrate our design system into AI-driven workflows at Ramp. After chatting with non-technical folks across the org, it became apparent that there was a desire to increase not only AI fluency, but folks' technical proficiency. So I built the Builder's Field Guide.
The Field Guide was meant to serve as a hub to develop a foundation of technical understanding so that people felt confident developing locally, getting started with internal tools like Glass and Inspect, and understanding how they could leverage AI as a true thought partner.
A part of it was developing a custom onboarding shell script that designers could leverage. All they had to do was copy and paste a cURL command to get their frontend environment setup. This drove eng to refresh their onboarding and create the Rampy CDN, an internal CDN where anyone could host their own custom assets.
@julesforrest I've had a couple of items from East Fork and I've really loved them! Hoping to restock my cupboards with them one day. π https://t.co/hE8kna2Z1l
Last Friday was my last day at @tryramp, but I wanted to make sure I left the design team a lil' glow up for Sakura, our prototyping playground. She's had many iterations since last year's hackathon, but excited to see where the team takes her π
@maggie509739060 Thank you!! The design system is Ryu, so it made sense that the prototyping playground was Sakura as sheβs always trying to learn/grow from Ryu. (I love a good lore reference)
I've been spending the last few weeks working on our prototyping sandbox at work and pretty excited to sneak these changes in before my last day at Ramp tomorrow β¨ Exploring in the browser with our design system components and use tokens for custom styles
