Congrats to Prof. Aaron Streets @airstreets
for the Chancellor's Award for Advancing Institutional Excellence and Equity! Streets is director of the BioESP program, cofounded the Next Gen Faculty symposium, and is our Vice Chair of Curriculum & Undergrads.
It’s my favorite time of the year: art show season! Please join me and the @FletcherLab_UCB in an evening of art on Friday May 6 @ 5pm in the Stanley Hall atrium. All art contributions encouraged and welcomed. Flyer credit to @CaitlinCornell6
We would like to invite everybody to our annual Art Show on May 6th, 2022. We are encouraging everyone to submit a piece of art (scientifically related or not), please help us spread the word! @UCBerkeley@QB3Berkeley@BerkeleyBioE@UCB_Biophysics
We did a really successful exercise in lab meeting:
1. Write the title of a paper you hope you’ll be able to publish from your research.
2. Find a buddy.
3. Write the title of a paper you think they will publish.
4. Compare. Discuss. Share with us.
Mark your calendars for the postdoc-organized (shout out to @AmbikaNadkarni, @MaryMirvis, and myself!) Symposium on Reconstruction of Organelle Interactions on 3-4th March 2022 for the @c3STC. Poster submissions are open, registration deadline 20th Feb! Website in thread.
Excited to host @senjutisaha for the 2nd Annual Student Led Seminar on behalf of @BerkeleyBioE, @UCSF_BioE, and @BioE_Beast. Dr. Saha will be sharing her work on tackling pediatric infections in low resource settings. Thanks to my co-organizer @kamofa_22
also I am no longer going to refer to myself or anyone else as a “tireless” advocate or a “tireless” anything. Everyone get tired. glorifying tirelessness leads to burnout.
Oof this thread hits hard. These days I do my best to focus my energies on service work that I am qualified to perform (even though I do not get paid to do it), but it still hurts to think of all the unpaid labor during my higher ed career.
Congratulations to Jeanne Stachowiak on receiving an @NIH R35 Grant to Study Protein Networks as Drivers of Cellular Membrane Remodeling, research that will provide more insights into human disease. https://t.co/yW25UHtwoC
