A humble request to @mybmc, @MTPHereToHelp@Dev_Fadnavis@AshwiniBhide
Mumbai has unfortunately witnessed multiple tree fall incidents over the past few days, including tragic loss of lives along with heavy #MumbaiRains ⛈️🔴
With another active spell expected around July 4-7, wind gusts of around 40-60 km/h may accompany heavy rainfall increasing the risk of tree falls now especially where trees are weak or waterlogged.
Request the BMC to proactively inspect, prune & secure vulnerable trees across the city, particularly near schools, hospitals, roads and railway corridors.
Preventive action today can save lives tomorrow. 🙏

I’m truly touched by the support we have received for the Neville D’Souza Football Arena in Bandra.
The bjp’s regime in the @mybmc has arbitrarily decided that the playground must be now converted to a convention centre.
After snatching away playgrounds of the youth of this country, and sporting associations, we wonder why we can’t ever make it to those world cups.
Staying up late at night, watching other countries play the @FIFAWorldCup … is that only what India supposed to do? Never dream of playing it?
Access to sports infrastructure is being shut down by the government itself.
The reason behind the bjp doing this is almost 40 years ago, the bjp convention was held there and on grounds around it!
Therefore now, a convention centre with the name of a bjp leader.
Imagine if all political parties start converting their favourite grounds into convention centres across India.
To everyone who supports sports, supports football- I have a humble request: please make sure our voice reaches everywhere!
Also to all the players (at all levels) do help us to amplify our voice!
Imagine on one end, we have politicians wanting to click pictures and share stage with @TeamMessi at a cricket stadium, and at the same time, a football ground is snatched away by the very same political party.
There are open plots around this ground but they want to shut this ground down- because it has young people playing there!
WHO says we should have 9 sqm open space per person. Mumbaikars are surviving on just 0.87 sqm. And now even that tiny bit is under attack.
Bandra’s Neville D’Souza Ground, the ONLY FIFA-standard ground in the whole city, where 10,000 young kids train every year; they want to use it for a convention centre.
They are snatching the last proper ground from our children so builders can make more money. Their dreams of playing proper football? Gone. Just like that.
We’re fighting to save Neville D’Souza Ground. If you’re from Mumbai and you care even a little, share this and join the fight. Before it’s too late. #SaveNevilleDsouzaGround #MumbaiOpenSpaces

Despite the nationwide shift to E20 petrol, the large majority of vehicles currently on Indian roads estimated at over 80–90%, are not certified as E20-compliant. As we know most of the pre-2023 models were designed only for E10 or lower blends!
For most INDIANs, our vehicle is the second most expensive asset that we will purchase!
Hence:
Join us to protest againt this arbitrary and non transparent Ethanol blending policy at

Mumbai is witnessing yet another decision that raises serious questions about the priorities of the BMC.
The proposal to remove the reservation of the Neville D’Souza Football Ground and replace it with a convention centre is deeply disappointing. At a time when Mumbai suffers from an acute shortage of playgrounds and open spaces, why is one of the city’s few dedicated football grounds being sacrificed instead of being protected and strengthened?
This is not merely about one football ground. It is about the future of public spaces in Mumbai. Every time an open space is converted into another form of development, the people lose while commercial interests gain.
The BMC claims this is for public infrastructure. But the larger question remains: Who truly benefits from such decisions? Citizens who need playgrounds, children who need sports facilities, and local football clubs certainly do not.
Mumbai needs more playgrounds, more parks, and more sporting infrastructure—not fewer.
The civic administration must explain why preserving public recreational spaces is no longer a priority. Citizens also deserve assurances that this reservation change will not eventually pave the way for commercial or private real estate interests in the future.
Mumbai belongs to its people—not to those who see every piece of public land as an opportunity for development.
🚨 #ExpressInvestigation | The Union Minister of State for Agriculture Bhagirath Choudhary received a ₹99.03 lakh subsidy for a commercial cucumber farming project under a scheme run by the ministry he serves in.
While the final approval was granted by an NHB project approval committee that does not include the minister, Choudhary is the ex-officio Vice-President of the NHB board that oversees its functioning.
The project, worth ₹1.99 crore, was among 467 approved under the scheme in 2025.

In the corridors of real estate - there was common chatter about the MP CM’s hunger for property. Kudos to Indian Express for going beyond the chatter and exposing the nefarious practice.
Besides the pathetic construction and an 18 year delay what is shameful is how suburbs of Mumbai get the step-motherly treatment with neither aesthetics nor urban planning. Proliferation of commercial&residential buildings but zero sense of planning.
