The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. has signed a contract with Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited on 18 March 2026 for the construction and delivery of One 3000 DWT Methanol Dual Fuel Diesel Electric Platform Supply Vessel.

This first-of-its-kind green vessel marks a significant step towards a low-carbon maritime future, aligning with the nation’s Net Zero commitments and reinforcing the nation’s thrust on indigenous shipbuilding.

The project also advances the vision of a globally competitive maritime sector under Maritime India Vision 2030, Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047, and National Green Hydrogen Mission.

This induction, the second VLGC this year, represents a significant stride in augmenting India's presence in the global gas trade and is a cornerstone for our nation's energy security.

Proud to induct VLGC Sahyadri, a 225m giant with the capacity to carry 82,000 cubic metres of LPG into the fleet of the Shipping Corporation of India.

This landmark addition strengthens our maritime muscle, secures vital energy lifelines and drives forward Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi ji’s vision of an Aatmanirbhar Bharat in shipping, steering India towards becoming one of the world’s top five maritime nations by 2047.

With SCI’s fleet now at 57 vessels & 5.2M DWT, we are charting a bold course for a Viksit Bharat through a Viksit Maritime Sector.

@TMCaTweetAway Service road outside Anand Nagar is blocked both ways for the past 2 months or so. Vehicles cant get out of soc. God forbid in Med emergency or fires.. not a single emergency vehicle will be able to enter my society of 250+ flats.

But People still get stuck in traffic for hrs at this patch. @NitinGadkariRss pls help people from Thane & prevent pollution & wastage of fuel.

Same happens in morning at teen hath naka flyover. Traffic police have to be deployed and violators should be punished

Middle lane of Ghodbundar Rd at Kasarwadawali single has been dug up leaving gap of 6-8inches in middle of road. No signage or no protective barrier. I pray no body loses life for this wilful negligence of Authorities
