Big mistake I see Twitter SMB buyers make?
Cosplaying as Private Equity.
This isn’t a private equity deal (and you sure as shit aren’t a private equity guy).
You’re trying to buy a company from some guy named Larry.
Judging Larry for “not knowing his KPIs” - is really arrogant (and wrong).
Larry put his family through college off his business, when you were still trying to remember to feed your Tamagotchi.
Larry knows more about ACTUALLY running a business, than (almost) everyone on Twitter combined.
The stress.
The ups.
The downs.
The nerves.
He thinks DSCR is a video game his grandson plays.
He never bought a course.
He never built a dashboard.
And he knows more about business than all of us.
If you are lucky enough to find a Larry - instead of asking him for his data room - how about you get to know the guy?
Larry doesn’t care where you went to school, what you used to do, or how you have a great idea for a new CRM.
He just wants to know if you are a good person, who will treat him fairly, and not be an arrogant jackass, as he considers passing the torch.
And hey - maybe he can even teach you a thing of two.
Said it before, and I’ll say it again… AirBNB is to Real Estate as Crypto is to the US Dollar.
Bright, Shiny object, quick reward but if you bought it depending on the SHORT term rental income for your cap rates you’re doomed for failure.
My friend is a great guy.
He knows zero about real estate.
He bought multiple homes the last few years and became an airbnb landlord.
Many others did the same.
This is troubling.
Thoughts on #AI in the Real Estate Agent space? I think there’s plenty of ways to use it as a tool, but I’m not concerned / convinced that it will replace agents…yet 😉
I’m a bit concerned about how real estate professionals are dismissing the potential threat of artificial intelligence.
Feels like the cab drivers reacting when Uber came out.
Instead of denying the potential impact of AI, study how you can best take advantage of its benefits.
