In March 2024, Fireball, also known as Miiko or Miko, was brutally tortured and killed in China.

She was just TWO MONTHS OLD.

According to animal advocates who documented her case, she was stolen from her home, suspended by her ears and paws with tongs, repeatedly electrocuted and skinned alive.

Her ordeal reportedly lasted hours.

And the entire horror was filmed for an online audience.

She should have been playing, exploring, cuddling and discovering the world. Instead, her short life ended in unimaginable agony.

More than two and a half years later, her killer has still not been brought to justice.

AND FIREBALL WAS NOT AN ISOLATED CASE.

She became one of the faces of the fight against organized online cat-torture networks, where innocent animals are deliberately abused, filmed and their suffering distributed for entertainment and profit.

These networks operate internationally, with significant activity originating in China. Their existence and scale have been exposed by major investigations from CNN and the BBC.

Behind every horrific video is a living, feeling creature who deserved love, safety and protection.
