Doug Ford has almost doubled Ontario’s debt in only 8 years.
Education spending is down.
Healthcare spending is down.
Housing costs and homelessness are way up.
And yet, Ford routinely claims that he’s the most fiscally responsible and has saved more money than any Premier.
Just a reminder.
School boards across Ontario are making huge cuts to staff and programs right now.
Not because they hate kids.
Because Doug Ford has stripped away their funding over the past 8 years.
Put the blame where it belongs.

Interesting how around the same time this government was announcing cuts to OSAP, they were also making installment payments on a luxury private jet for Doug Ford.
Students were told to tighten their belts while this government spent taxpayer money like it was nothing. #onpoli
It appears Premier Doug Ford's office didn't include the costs of HST into the initial public disclosure -- meaning the jet actually cost north of $30 million CAD.
Ontario taxpayers were ultimately out nealy $200k in additional costs.

#BREAKING: Ontario incurred more than $190,000 in extra fees (plus taxes) associated with its $28.9M private jet purchase, including costs for maintenance, storage and legal services, according to documents obtained by the Globe and Mail. #onpoli
Doug Ford once said his government would be the most transparent in history.
Since then, he:
❌stopped releasing mandate letters
❌failed to publish Ministers' agendas
❌eviscerated freedom of information laws
Democracy dies in darkness - so let's keep shedding light ⬇️
Premier Ford says this morning: “Governments don’t have an income problem. They have a spending problem.”
He should look in the mirror. Never has a government spent so much to deliver so little while lighting our money on fire for his pet projects to benefit his friends.
Ford going back to court to hide his phone records.
Democracy Watch argues at the Supreme Court that Ford's Bill to hide his phone records violates the public's right to disclosure of government information.
Ford's lawyers will be paid by Ontario taxpayers—so Ford will be using more of our money to hide his corruption.

Conservatives are really starting to piss me off
They say they are against cancel culture, but then they try to cancel Jimmy Kimmel for a joke they didn't like.
They say they believe in personal freedom, but not for gays or trans people.
Such duplicitous, unserious people.
This is a serious threat facing Ontario. Hospital cuts, 70% of hospitals in deficit, and more than $1 billion in underfunding. Many ERs are increasing hallway medicine. Rather than a $29 million jet we could hire 300 RNs for a year, not cut them.

Poilievre complains almost daily about the Liberals raising prices on groceries.
However, yesterday, he voted no on Bill-C226 to improve food price transparency.
Conservatives are lying to you 😒
🧾 Pierre Poilievre spent two years screaming about grocery prices. Yesterday, Parliament voted on Bill C-226, a national framework to improve food price transparency, and force grocery chains to show Canadians where the money actually goes.
Poilievre voted NO. Every Conservative voted NO.
📊 Final tally: 168 Yea. 150 Nay. The bill passed, no thanks to the party that built its entire brand on "axe the tax" and grocery affordability.
🎭 This is the pattern. The grievance is the product. Solving the problem would end the grift. When there's an actual mechanism to hold grocers accountable, Conservatives fold for the industry every single time.
Poilievre doesn't want lower food prices. He wants the issue.

NEW: The Ford government has called a late night sitting to pass the budget during legislative off-hours.
If it gets 3rd reading tonight, it could be law as early as tomorrow.
Rendering the court decision for the Premier to hand over his cellphone records moot.

An NDP Freedom of Information (FOI) request revealed that the Ford government spent $1,737,051.59 (pre-tax) on the Ontario Place ads between January 1 through November 18, last year. The government had refused to disclose the amount when asked by Global News last November.
