For around 10 years I’ve worked on the issue of #loneliness and been fortunate to have met hundreds of people that have opened their lives and shared their stories on how this problem has impacted upon them. And, now here’s mine... #Endloneliness#LetsTalkLoneliness
"I knew loss and grief would be painful, but I underestimated how vulnerable, isolated and lonely I would feel. Bereavement is lonely enough. #Covid19 adds another layer."
Our Campaign Manager, @andy_nazer, shares his story of bereavement and #loneliness

When someone's dying or grieving, getting things in order can be overwhelming, especially if people at the companies you're dealing with don't understand what you're going through. This has to change. Sign @mariecurieuk's petition to #MakeSadminSimple: https://t.co/GLtbFiRumy
@michael_merrick You’re definitely not alone. Your situation will resonate with many. Loneliness tends to be different for each of us. So the way out of it is not easy. We build bonds through shared experiences. Doing things together usually helps. Check out @maxdickins book ‘Billy No Mates’
This is appalling. If these people actually used mobiltiy aids, would it disqualify them for political office? In an ageist + ableist world, yes. Shame on @newyorker, yet again, for sanctioning #discrimination—especially in a world of longer lives. https://t.co/773VXdo5vR
Local authorities talk about #inclusion and invest heavily on this, and then forget about some of the basics? Like public WC’s…
Over 14 million people of all ages, experience continence problems... many are excluded

How do we overcome #loneliness ? There is no one answer. We are each different. However, I do believe that having a sense of #purpose certainly helps. And this is so often denied us as we age. #Ageing#Ageism https://t.co/JMIc0bmKpR

@RevRichardColes No, it’s not just you who notices and appreciates this @RevRichardColes. This is the stuff that binds us together, feeds the sense of connection and belonging that we all strive for. And often fail to find.
A heart-breaking moment saved in an SS picture of deportations of Hungarian Jews at Auschwitz II-Birkenau. It was taken 79 years ago, most likely in late May 1944.
A little child found a dandelion in the grass and is handing it or showing it to an older boy. All the people in this picture were waiting to be killed in gas chamber. They were murdered some time later.

@wrobinson101 Great programme, @wrobinson101
Reality is that #ageism exists everywhere. And it’s our responsibility to challenge. @Ageing_Better have some excellent resources on this issue. Often fear by (younger) employers creates barriers. Empowering managers is central to overcoming this
@JustMeandLilley Isn’t the key to maintain the connections you have - and try to build on these? Not easy! Community alarms are effective and bring peace of mind. It’s very likely that you’ll never need to press the pendant in an emergency. I also suggest you install a key safe (they are ‘safe’)
@asda latest Income Tracker shows those aged 65 to 74 experienced a £163 drop in disposable income in August, compared to last year. They are now offering £1 soup, roll and unlimited tea for over 60s https://t.co/yqF1ZEg7Dq
