I have undertaken this project to put a face to 9/11 by posting a photo of everyone killed that day. If after everything that happened you can vote for the ideology that brought it about it's as if you are killing them yourself! Pictured below was 41 year old Ezra Aviles who was the Senior Manager of Planning and Development for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey on the 61st floor of the North Tower. He had seen Flight 11 fly by his window and began making emergency calls to officials telling them to avoid the building and the area. He had previously been the assistant commissioner of the New York City Department of Environmental Protection and had responded to the 1993 bombing. On 9/11 he was helping people evacuate when the North Tower imploded and he left behind his wife and two children. His body was recovered from the rubble four days later and to forget even a single one of these people is a blasphemy!

Roselle was asleep under her owner's desk on the 78th floor in Tower 1 of the World Trade Center when the attack commenced. She was awakened by the plane impacting some fifteen floors above them. Roselle calmly helped Hingson to stairwell B, despite the smoke, confusion and noise surrounding her.
She led her owner and 30 other people down 1,463 steps out of the tower. After descending over half the distance, they passed the firemen who were heading up, who Roselle stopped to greet. The descent took just over an hour. Just after they exited the tower, Tower 2 collapsed, sending debris flying. Hingson later said, "While everyone ran in panic, Roselle remained totally focused on her job, while debris fell around us, and even hit us, Roselle stayed calm."
In the heat of all the chaos, Roselle still just wanted to be friendly with the brave firemen

Originally assigned to the north tower, that quickly changed when the south tower was hit.

His story on 9/11 is incredible. He used his electrical background to get an elevator working and rode it to the 41st floor. He then ascended 37 flights of stairs on foot with heavy gear, reaching the Sky Lobby on the 78th floor.

His entire journey is well documented on radio transmission. The professionalism and focus in his voice is heroic. His last transmission describing “two isolated pockets of fires” shows that he genuinely thought they could take on these fires, and get those trapped free.

Moments later, South tower came down.

On September 11th, 2001, 72 Police Officers made the ultimate sacrifice while responding to the terrorist attacks: 23 NYPD Officers, 37 Port Authority Officers, and 12 officers from other departments.
Since that day, more officers have lost their lives to illnesses related to their service at Ground Zero, bringing the total number of police officers killed by the 911 terrorist attack to 667. Sadly there will be more.

They ran toward the danger while others were running away. They answered the call. They put others before themselves. They gave everything. They worked on the pile searching, trying to help.

We honor the 667 Police Officers who gave their all and every single officer that responded to the call. #NeverForget

Ten days after her birthday, she was on the 83rd floor of the North Tower.

That’s where her tomorrows ended.

9/11 victim #10 of 2977: Heinrich Bernhard “Heinz” Ackermann (November 4, 1962 – September 11, 2001) died in Tower 2 World Trade Center.

Heinrich was a German insurance professional who lived in New York City. He was 38. He was born in Roxel, in Münster, North Rhine-Westphalia. His family ran a restaurant in the Münsterland, which he did not want to take over. In his early thirties he moved to New York and worked in insurance. Colleagues knew him as friendly, capable, and well liked. He had worked with Aon’s German predecessor Jauch & Hübener in Munich in the 1990s, then for Aon Corporation in New York.

In the summer of 2001 he visited Aon’s Detroit office and offered colleagues a tour of the World Trade Center. Friends in Germany said he planned to move home around age 40. On September 11 he was an Aon employee assigned to the South Tower (2 World Trade Center), 101st floor. United Airlines Flight 175 struck that tower well below his floor. A survivor later recalled him in the tower lobby helping the wounded. He did not survive. His name is on Panel S-55 of the National September 11 Memorial

In 1968, Cynthia Lennon came home from a trip to Greece.

She found her husband, John Lennon, with another woman in their house.
The woman was wearing Cynthia’s dressing gown, which shocked her.
Instead of shouting or getting angry, Cynthia reacted calmly.

She even asked them if they wanted to stay for dinner, because she was in shock.

This moment marked the end of her marriage.

Later, John Lennon and Cynthia divorced.

Cynthia took care of her son, Julian, and tried to give him a peaceful life.

She stayed away from public drama and focused on raising her child.
Paul McCartney also visited Cynthia and Julian and supported them.
He was inspired by Julian’s situation and later helped create the song “Hey Jude.”

Cynthia wrote books about her life but did not try to take revenge.

She described both the good and bad sides of her marriage.

After John Lennon’s death, she continued living quietly and supported her son.

Cynthia died in 2015.

Her life is remembered as an example of quiet strength and dignity during pain.
