Into FFC - Brian McBride is still God, Horse racing, new and old music ( From Cole Porter to Starcrawler) and watching movies whilst being a Steppenwolf.
Alvaro Arbeloa - as previously said a high risk, potentially high reward choice for Fulham, his intent to build a more youthful side is laudable but has to be evolution rather than revolution. But more importantly has to get a solid start to get everyone positive and confident.
@frankieptaylor Yes don't know if it just because we know the players from PL but starters for Brazil from Brentford, ex West Ham, Newcastle etc is just mad. The mystery and exotic nature of Brazil has definitely gone. Not exactly R9 Ronaldinho and Rivaldo (all still now better than Thiago)
Arbeloa to Fulham - exciting/ interesting but definitely a risk given his lack of experience coaching. Hopefully he is surrounded by experienced heads / trusted coaches and can create a more youthful Fulham team which can build on the very solid foundations set up by Marco Silva.
Just listened to @jackellyffc interview with Tony Khan, very useful to do and it appears it will be a more regular thing between them which is useful for both sides and us as fans. Jack did a great job just letting his interviewee speak and give full answers.
@ItsIbzFFC Makes too much sense (8m release clause notwithstanding). Same system and style of play as Marco, experience with younger/youth players and would be dealing with higher level of players than done so far as manager.
@FulhamishPod@AdamFarquharson Excellent piece, as you say McKenna the obvious choice to replicate Marco tactics. Poch imo the 'best' high profile name but WC. Always get the feeling the Khans/ Ali Mac will want to big name which McKenna isn't (and supposed 8m release clause) but we shall see.
relations as they really don't like Fulham at all and as soon as any bad run of results then the crowd will turn quicker than usual. Frank Lampard would be the Khans and Ali Mac sticking two fingers up at fans, they might as well as him to bring in John Terry as assistant.
In terms of those mentioned for the Fulham job, I think Kieran McKenna makes the most sense (same style as Marco) but will FFC pay release clause and will he want to jump ship after promotion with Ipswich. Thomas Frank is pragmatic choice but will he want to sour brentford
Marco Silva - thanks for the memories, turned the club back into a stable PL side (on the pitch at least). Certainly top 3 with Tigana and Roy in my time supporting club. Hopefully enjoys time back in Portugal with the family. Pressure on Khans to make correct call as big summer.
@frankieptaylor True, Barkley would be a very poor signing as 'only' a Harrison Reed replacement on double (or more) the wages. We shall see regarding the manager, but it will show if it is the club or Marco who were behind the need for experienced players with limited sell on.
@frankieptaylor Surely as Ali Mac in post in the the post Roy plastic sticking decline years (re-signing rather than replacing Karagounis with Strootman was the moment clear MAF had checked out), surely he should not repeat this error but maybe those in power just coasting with limited ambition.
Gold Dancer - such a bad look for Paul Townend and sport, the horse made such a jarring error and it all happened so quickly but clearly the horse was not right. Love NH racing but those type of obvious injuries (fortunately very rare) are so depressing and put you off the sport.
@2147mill A rigged game, might as well not be working. Lucky we have visionary thinkers in Rachel and Keir who see it as an issue and focused on sorting it out.
@jackellyffc It did to me give the impression that Oscar Bobb prefers Dortmund ( not unreasonable given cl football) but city happy to sell to Fulham but maybe leaked to create a bidding war.
