@KelseyASmith99 I agree, we need to work together as a society to truly eradicate violence. Focusing on the real hard issues at hand rather than victim blaming and looking for the "easy" way out. Violence should never occur regardless of who the victim is and their actions. #GNDR1000S2020
I think what Jackson Katz spoke about during his TedTalk really shows us how victim blaming does not solve the problem at hand. We need to focus on fixing the perpetrator's behavior, not analyzing the victim's behavior. #GNDR1000S2020
@EidGilles It's the same for me, exercise really helps improve my physical wellness and benefits my mental health and overall well being. I think staying active can be essential to reducing stress and improving my mood. #HKR1000
@RebeccaHKR1000 I definitely agree. Having the correct work/life balance is critical to improving your overall mood and mental state. I normally plan to have at least one day per week where I don't do any work and just focus on relaxing with friends. This tends to improve my mood. #HKR1000
@KaziTasnim3 @Natalia75000749 This is an excellent point. A lot of people have experienced mental health issues during isolation due to COVID. Staying in contact with loved ones via social media/video calls/voice calls is essential to prevent any possible mental health problems for occurring. #HKR1000
I personally recommend taking breaks during study periods and going out for a walk and some fresh air. This can reduce stress and increase overall focus upon your return. It can also give your body a chance to stretch and relieve built up tension. What do you recommend? #HKR1000
The MoodCheck app showed me my daily patterns and how exercise improved my mood. My mood would be much better during my walks than during my study periods. I think this reinforces what we learned about staying active for improved mental health and overall wellbeing. #HKR1000
@Natalia75000749 This really shows us the effect that our interpersonal/social wellness has on our overall wellness and mental health. Spending time with loved ones can improve our mental health especially during this time of isolation. #HKR1000
@ShaveEmily The fact of the matter is, if all the work they do was to be done by someone else (nannies, housekeepers, chefs), that would be considered jobs, so why isn't being a stay at home parent? They're doing *at least* 3 different jobs. #GNDR1000S2020
@KaitlynGrandy This is so true. I think we also need address the issue that traditionally women are expected to do all this additional work as well, whereas a lot of men (not all) only do paid work and then do not do much housework. This is the bigger issue at hand, I feel. #GNDR1000S2020
I think COVID-19 brought to light how difficult it is being a stay at home parent and showed many people how much actual work goes into it. Check out this article about it. Why do most people still not consider it "proper work"?

@EidGilles I completely agree, it is so disheartening to see it happen and I really think we need to raise awareness about it so that we as a society can reduce it as much as possible and hopefully one day it will be completely eradicated. #GNDR1000S2020
This video describes the importance of not making assumptions based on the someone's race. Even if the racism was unintentional, it still happened and a person lost their life, this needs to be addressed within the healthcare industry. #GNDR1000S2020 https://t.co/Mcm3PcnaDp
@EidGilles I find this absolutely ridiculous and I'm shocked that it exists. Everyone should be treated the same regardless of their gender. This shows us how the social determinants of health are indeed gendered and can be detrimental for some people. #GNDR1000S2020
We normally think of individual efforts to being healthy but disregard the social determinants of health. These are the conditions we are born into and live in which affect our health. To improve societal health, we need to consider these social determinants. #GNDR1000S2020
@DanielleCheese4 There are so many different ways to reduce stress and many people don't realise how eating well is a big contributor to reducing stress. People often eat junk food when they are stressed without realising that it is actually causing more harm. #HKR1000
@EidGilles People underestimate the importance of nutrition, especially with regards to vitamins and minerals and focus too much on calorie intake. As the article says, an Iron deficiency is the most common (which can cause anemia). Many people aren't aware what foods contain Iron. #HKR1000
Many people do not realize the importance of flexibility. This article does a good job to explain importance of flexibility for runners and also how to improve your flexibility. Being flexible can help reduce risk of injury. Do you stretch enough? #HKR1000 https://t.co/91kZkh4YbP
#HKR1000 teaches us the importance of healthy eating and nutrition. This article highlights how a healthy diet can reduce risk of a chronic disease such as diabetes. Do you eat enough fruits, vegetables and whole grains? https://t.co/L460yDOdfW
#HKR1000 teaches us how to improve our overall health as well as prevent injuries when exercising. This article discusses some common mistakes people make when working out. How many of these mistakes do you make without even knowing about them? https://t.co/SqcbjaQGwT
