@ChiefExecCCC @theCCCuk@thecarbontrust When I say to my son Chris Stark is my hero, he thinks I mean Iron Man… nope. Looking forward to seeing you at the Carbon Trust.
Did you know that heating your home with hydrogen will be one way you can help the UK reach its net zero targets by 2050?
Unlike the natural gas boilers we use today hydrogen doesn’t produce carbon and so will help us move towards a greener future. @RachelRileyRR
This is a very useful summary. Thanks to @david_joffe . Hydrogen blending is not for the sake of it but to support the scale of early hydrogen production. We needs loads of hydrogen so let’s put in place some sensible mechanisms that support this ambition.
🧵 on H₂ blending, in the news recently thanks to a letter by a coalition led by @E3G to the Govt (and reported in the Guardian)

Just heard someone refer to wind projects that are not able to get a grid connection as "trapped wind projects" and I think that might be the best energy thing I've heard in ages.
HAPPY DUNKELFLAUTE DAY! Or a snow day, to non-energy geeks. Here’s a quick thread summarising what’s happening and how a low carbon system could respond to a similar challenge. /1
We are getting the ball rolling on piloting a hydrogen heated town 🏠
This is our latest step to explore the benefits of hydrogen - a potential greener, safer and cost-effective way to heat homes in future.

Our Hydrogen Experience Centre in Ellesmere Port is now open!
Visitors can meet our local team, book a free in-home hydrogen assessment and see examples of appliances and technologies that would be available in a world with hydrogen heating. Read more: https://t.co/r6G3Q2ppLz
Surprise end to a long day - literally having a walk with the PM around the #CPC22 Hydrogen Zone with some of our @IGEMGi members. All credit to Beyond2050 - great event.
@mikefosterEUA I really do think this assessment misses the point that consumers want a choice, that not all homes are ‘average’ and that rather than dissing creative alternatives, like hydrogen.. he should very much focus on demonstrating that full electrification is possible and affordable.
"I think hydrogen is ultimately the silver bullet. We create it from renewable sources... we use it as an effective battery and it can then, with some adjustments, be piped through to people’s houses to heat them during the winter" @Jacob_Rees_Mogg
👋Watch now for all the action from our Hydrogen Investment Forum yesterday with @beisgovuk and featuring our CEO @_Clare_Jackson and a clip of the event's keynote speaker, Secretary of State @KwasiKwarteng as he discusses the 'super fuel of the future'.
