Tune into @WGRZ’s “WNY Living” this Saturday at noon to hear colorectal surgeon Dr. Anthony Dakwar discuss trends in colorectal cancer incidence and outcomes and the importance of individualized care plans for people with colorectal cancer.
"Exciting news! The latest #NCCN guidelines, released today, are a game-changer for #colorectalcancer. They now have separate guidelines for pMMR and dMMR tumors in both colon and rectal ca. To ensure the best treatment for all, universal testing of MMR/MSI is crucial.
"I feel great and, with the surgery completed, my quality of life is much better now than it was when I was in so much pain from my IBD." Read more about the individualized care Stefanie received from our team of experts in colorectal cancer.

People with Crohn’s disease in particular are two to three times more likely to develop colorectal cancer than people without the disease. The severity of IBD symptoms and a family history of colon or rectal cancer also play a role in your risk.

@MarkSoliman@AdventHealthCFL@IntuitiveSurg That’s awesome! I routinely perform SILS for TAC/TPC, colostomy creation/reversal, etc or basically anything that ends up with an ostomy or had an ostomy. Excited to see your thoughts! Congratulations @MarkSoliman
@michaelfmcgee@FicheraAlessand@ASCRS_1 Agreed. I think at this point we can all agree biology is king and not necessarily surgical technique, although it does play a role for sure. However, hard for me to ignore the key in preventing recurrence is mainly driven by being on the correct biologic and good GI F/up.
