Just two pics from today's @savebutterflies Scottish Autumn Gathering in Perth. Moths at lunchtime always a real highlight, and a sold-out venue with 120 people in attendance. Thanks to @NatureScot for funding!
Two butterfly species have made dramatic appearances in Scotland this summer in a suspected response to climate change 🦋📍
These new records are part of a wider picture of butterflies and moths moving north across the UK.

We've a guest blog today from Anthony McCluskey of Butterfly Conservation Scotland. He provides an update on a project to understand populations of three of our rarest butterflies and moths, and how to secure a future for these species. https://t.co/EHuHhQM0Jt
Our next talk will be on the 17th April by Anthony McCluskey (@anthonymcc85) titled Solitary bees: Where to start?
It will take place at 5pm over Zoom - save the date!

Raising the alarm: Rannoch Brindled Beauty moths are out in Perthshire! This one looks fresh from the pupa and may be drying his new wings, we don't usually get to see them like this so it was a nice treat.
If you enjoyed the stunning views of Edinburgh from Arthur’s Seat on @NetflixUK's One Day, you might like to know that it’s a great place to see a rare butterfly called the Grayling 🦋⛰️

@Tracytrees@DJHbutterflies 🙈 I felt bad for you when I saw the forecast. That amber weather warning was just following you around between Saturday and Sunday! At least you had Tom's big boot to hide under, we would have have a tight squeeze to get under my boot.
Greenock, Scotland. Remember none of this is a major problem according to our politicians. We’ll all pretend it’s fine despite the fact it’s just the beginning - and governments plan to make it worse for another 30 years
What a day! Nearly 70 people braved atrocious weather to come to the @savebutterflies Scottish autumn gathering and spend a day talking about butterflies + moths and how we can help them. Photos of the Death's-head hawk-moth, our moth trap gazebo, and @RedChestnut336 speaking
Spooky season is upon us! Beautiful Canary-shouldered thorn moth in the trap, with Tawny Owl calling from the field next door and stags roaring on the hills.
@dornochlassie Twitter is a strange place these days. It seems to show me more tweets about right-wing conspiracy theories than stuff I actually want to see.
