You can buy a better looking “artsy” Pikachu plush for ~10% of this one’s cost. Sean Wotherspoon collab from Pokemon Center Japan [will probably come to US too].
There’s a good looking Charizard plush too. Better than this artificial scarcity nonsense.
Images of the Steiff Pikachu collectible that released this week! Only 1,996 of the plushies will be sold worldwide. Retails for €350 or about $400 USD 🧸
@Nerd_Gasms If you consider the artist YOSHIROTTEN made art pieces using only RGB colors, there’s no need to overthink. It looks the way it is because it’s how the artist/illustrator intended. Considering they’re the featured artist for this set it makes sense it’s in their style.
@ImliterallyETH No. This looks like art from YOSHIROTTEN, which makes sense considering they’re heavily promoted as the artist of this set’s chase cards.
@Kam1maru@RedxDevilx44 He already made at least 4 chase cards [Mew, Mewtwo, Pikachu Day/Night] in this set, along with a full set of Energy cards, so it’s not really that outlandish. I think this is also be the first time a set had a “featured” artist, so make sense for them to make multiple cards.
@maya_jillian75@promisetower But nothing as perfect as this one. Correct set, text/kerning looks correct, art matches the illustrator’s artstyle [google “YOSHIROTTEN RGB”]. I’m certain it’s real, and feel bad for the illustrator who simply drew a Pokemon card in their style, and getting hate for it.
The card fits YOSHIROTTEN’s art style. The details are too perfect, something I haven’t seen in fake cards. It’s too detailed to be fake.
This would have been hyped and probably be taken more positively if it wasn’t leaked by someone selling unreleased products.
It’s sad that people are hating on this card, partly due to the hate for streamers likely selling stolen products months in advance.
I feel bad for the artist [YOSHIROTTEN, who designed the other headline cards for this set]. I’m certain it’s real, and I think it looks nice.
@Kam1maru@RedxDevilx44 YOSHIROTTEN, the artist for this card and the Future Rares, also have an RGB artstyle that prominently uses those 3 colors [matching this leaked card]. I’m leaning towards real.
@maya_jillian75@Cardsandcafe Two counters:
- YOSHIROTTEN’s RGB concepts are actually limited to those colors, which fits the leaked card.
- The futuristic Mew ex is in the set, this is a separate card that has a normal [non-ex] counterpart in this set, it’s not the same card. It wasn’t “suddenly not an ex”.
@TigTheSlow@BenBlazing99@LightShadowOnyx At the very least, it’s inspired by Kyogre. Of course it’s not a 1:1 copy, they’re not that stupid. You already admitted there was a Cinderace copy, what makes you think that was a one-of thing and they didn’t copy [or at least got “inspired” by] anything else.
@Dellikuri@joshscorcher But this game in particular has blatant copies of Pokemon [or at the very least heavily inspired designs], you’d have to be delusional to think they draw the line on Kyogre. Like they clearly copied/were inspired on some designs, it’s not crazy to think this is also inspired.
@brayshgaming Seems like it. Same artist in same set usually means connecting art.
Though there’s also a cross-set “connecting” art with Gumshoos AR from this set and Raticate AR from a previous set.
@AlbertoSal9@MetroidMike64 Someone mentioned the orange/blue on the Switch 2’s Joy-Con slot is just a sticker according to the demo game, so they might have thought about the color mismatch and there’s probably matching stickers for new colors?
@AxieAur It’s because Katana site didn’t have that fee in specific. Since Katana site will be removed/redirected to Web Wallet app, the new site also won’t have that fee [as it’s one of the main reason some users swap on Katana site].
Also, I think the fees still apply on extension/app.
