Managing a city like Mumbai of over 20 million people is no easy task. Credit to so many of our frontline workers who, despite days of relentless rain, worked round the clock to restore normalcy—ensuring clean water supply reached most homes, clearing large number fallen trees to reopen roads, and unclogging drains to ease flooding.
BMC often faces criticism, and rightly so when it falls short. But credit should also be given where it’s due. The people on the ground have put in an extraordinary effort over the past few days.
🚨 Citizens should stop blaming the BMC alone for Mumbai's monsoon waterlogging, the flooding is largely a result of encroachments, clogged drains and misuse of public infrastructure.

Pakistani Journalist: PAK's problems come from its borders with India, Afghanistan etc
Ex-Singapore Ambassador: That is an excuse. Pakistan has been mismanaged from the beginning. I don't see any solution. Your politicians are a waste of time. The military is part of the problem
Pakistani Journalist: Where will Pakistan be in 5 years?
Ex-Singapore Ambassador: I will be very blunt. Pakistan took advantage of a diplomatic opportunity in the US-Iran war. But that will not feed your people. Pakistan has been on the brink of failure for a long time.
My remarks at the Oxford Union almost a yr ago have made their way across social media. I gave a perspective on what has changed in India, citing events & anecdotes to support my argument. I’m overwhelmed to see how it has resonated with so many of you.🙏
