Ten buys you Six. Six is a crap shoot. I used to do Four. Four sucks. Here again you're harvesting your life for parts, hoping it's enough. It's usually not. But five. Five. That's serious. Now we're onto something.
@hacks4pancakes Under-rated comment of the day. I never trusted anyone, including a spouse, to line up my "shinies" correctly or iron my creases... Too much at stake.
@WeldPond Any concerns about the government owning or controlling the blocklists for routes, domains, or certs? Does that edge us closer to Rozcomnadzor or the Great Firewall? Where's the "stop line"?
An infrastructure bill should include funding for cybersecurity. The internet is critical infrastructure for public and private realms in the 21st century.
@ginger_hax It's all good until you realize some of those decisions are hiding in the walls. Bad plumbing design, toxic insulation, leaving the aluminum knob-and-tube stuff from 1910 in place .. knowing is *only* half the battle.
@aprilwright@sevillage If it's industrial espionage you're interested in, there's a guided tour... trams leave on the hour. I believe there's even a museum these days!
Did it inspire NiN lyrics, Equilibrium's plot, Gattaca, or V for Vendetta? The needle (memory insertion) scenes from the Matrix? The scifi fetish with eyeballs and reconstruction?
@MalwareJake I came across an MDM solution recently.. every agent (win/lin/mac) that didn't have to be written in a specific language (iphone/android) was written in JS. It had system lock, GPS, and local file fetching capabilities. People are using *JS* for their *EDR*.
@TheDukeZip That athlon64 might be a museum piece one day. From a time when people thought 64 bit chips were a pointless novelty. "Why would anyone want 64-bit? Won't the binaries be bloated and slow? Won't they take up more disk and ram? For what? The clockspeed is the same if not slower!"
