Justin Jones and Bishop William Barber II brought a child-sized coffin into the building to stand up for the children dying from gun violence. BOOM: Alvin Bragg’s office told Jim Jordan to take a road trip to Ohio if he wants to talk about violent crime.

Today Republican Jim Jordan convened convened the House Judiciary Committee in NYC to address the crime there.

Bragg’s response when he learned of the move was perfect:

“In DA Bragg’s first year in office, New York City had one of the lowest murder rates of major cities in the United States (5.2) - nearly three times lower than Columbus, Ohio (15.4).” A spokesman said.

“If Chairman Jordan truly cared about public safety, he could take a short drive to Columbus, Dayton, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Akron, or Toledo in his home state, instead of using taxpayer dollars to travel hundreds of miles out of his way.”

Bragg’s office wasn’t wrong.

- Crime rates are higher in states with weaker gun laws.

-A 2022 study found that permitless carry laws increase firearm homicides by 13% and firearm violent crimes by 29%.

JIM JORDAN IS AN EMBARRASSMENT.

MORE TROUBLE FOR CLARENCE THOMAS.

JUST IN: Clarence Thomas has claimed income from a defunct real estate firm for almost two decades.

The company — a Nebraska real estate firm launched in the 1980s by his wife and her relatives — has not existed since 2006.

The company was replaced by Ginger Holdings, LLC, though Thomas has continued to report between $50,000 and $100,000 annually from the defunct company on his financial disclosure forms.

Along with other errors and omissions over the years, this prompts concerns about his accuracy in reporting his finances to the public. This should be the LAST straw.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

A FULL investigation into his finances must happen and Clarence Thomas should be held accountable. Otherwise our laws or respect for the court means nothing.
