@baltphillyfan@FOP3 Basically, none of it’s correct. Also, I’m not a sworn officer, I’m with the community relations council of SE District BPD, that’s literally my title.
I do love the Eagles tho, Philly fan.
@AmiriKing These are just unarmed security guards who are tasked with going through bags and doing pat downs when needed. If I were in their shoes, and saw things start popping off, I’d run to safety too!
@PeterMoskos Yeah this is a piece of it. But none of this works without Ivan Bates making the BC States Attorney’s Office more functional, effectively prosecuting violent crimes & all these gun charges. His efforts along with federal prosecutors have changed the violent crime situation here.
@ChurchISChange@johnbeamon_@nypost But her diagnosis was NHL, not pancreatic cancer. That’s like saying “I think this treatment works great for MS, so let me take it for my Parkinson’s disease even though there’s zero evidence let alone peer reviewed published studies that show it works in Parkinson’s.
Proud of my 25 years on the BPD. Now that @ivanjbates is the City States Attorney, I can once again recommend the Baltimore City Police as a career choice! It is an honorable and rewarding job!
Great reporting here from @LeeOSanderlin and @emilyopilo. Baltimore’s historic drop in crime started when @ivanjbates took office two years ago. The mayor and the governor want to take credit for Bates’s work, but the stats suggest otherwise.

@DarthSpidey1@jemillerbalt Non fatal shootings are down about 35% this year, from 635 in 2023 to 414 in 2024 as of 12/30 (yesterday). NFS had been hovering around 700 for most of the previous 10 years.
BREAKING: calling the Columbia murder case the final straw, a coalition of neighborhood and community leaders just sent this letter to @iamwesmoore demanding the ouster of DJS chief .. @wbaltv11
Revised FBI data shows reported crime was UP in 2022. Which means all those "But crime is down" claims last year were, well, wrong. I was just made of aware of this by right-wing "abolish the FBI" kooks. FWIW, revised data came out in Sep, not "right before the election."
RE: Butcher's Hill attack on 66 y/o man:
Baltimore City SA Ivan Bates says later today he will be able to discuss charges against the 15-year-old suspect.
But he's clear:
"If you're going to stomp on individuals' heads, then you can expect to get charged with attempted murder."
@alsodawn@justin_fenton BPD has a no chase policy. The tactics involved in addressing these meet ups don’t involve chasing the participants. In these “disruptions” the drivers were cited/arrested without incident. Also, to your point, innocent bystanders should not be harmed due to police chases.
Uh what? The city says it can’t talk about what it’s doing to combat a crisis because of some related litigation? We can’t walk and chew gum on this issue?
Krasner will do anything to help criminals avoid prison time - even Miles Pfeffer, an exceptionally callous, violent man
Pretty unbelievable story below👇
