In our Sept 10 Post-Market Report, we pointed out signs of profit booking in defence stocks following their sharp rally. We also highlighted that the small-cap segment was entering an increasingly stretched zone, where fresh buying could turn more stock-specific rather than remain broad-based.

The market movement since then has been in line with our observations. From Sept 10, the Nifty Defence Index has corrected by 9.36%, while the Nifty Small cap and Nifty Midcap indices have declined by 5.91% and 6.99%, respectively.

These developments highlight the importance of identifying early signs of market exhaustion, exercising caution after extended rallies. #hstwealth #stockmarket
