Why Soroban first?

Stellar can ship this at the contract layer before touching the protocol. That's a faster path than chains where the signing key is baked into address derivation.

2026 — ML-DSA-44/65 land in Soroban as native host functions. Contract accounts can go quantum-safe now.

2027 — quantum-safe signers on classic accounts via set_options.

No date — Ed25519 retired, tied to community discussion. ⚛️
