I want to say this is a good start. We're still in a position of underfunding. We still deserve a world class transit system. We still won't get there with this alone. Thank you @GovernorShapiro for helping us live to fight another day.
It's a (re)start!! Thank you @JoshShapiroPA. Let's keep people moving🚏🚋🚍🚇
Thank you to all the advocates and riders who signed petitions, emailed, called, and continue to fight for this. @transit4philly@5thSq@TransitPa@transitapp
An important step years in the making.
News: Gov. Josh Shapiro announces he is redirecting $150 million in federal highway funding to SEPTA to delay planned service cuts as the transit agency grapples with a $240 million budget shortfall. It now falls to state lawmakers in Harrisburg to find a long term solution.
Mass transit is a lifeline for Pennsylvanians, but Senate Republicans still refused a deal to fund SEPTA.
Now, the Governor may be able to "flex" federal funds to help plug the gap in SEPTA’s budget. I believe we should use any power we have to avoid fare hikes and service cuts.
The Office of Government Efficiency is off to a great start with split leadership: two people to do the work of one person.
Yeah, this seems REALLY efficient.

Right now, @SEPTA helps nearly 800,000 people (my constituents, my loved ones, and me included) get where we need to go—every day. PA’s lack of transit funding has triggered a looming crisis. Our government needs to meet the urgent funding needs and create a secure future.
Not long ago, @GovernorShapiro reopened a portion of I-95 that collapsed in Philadelphia, in just 12 days. This portion of I-95 serves an estimated 160,000 vehicles a day. Now we need him to fund SEPTA, which serves over 700,000 people per day. https://t.co/1iekpgOnI7

Very thoughtful proposal from @PhillyOTIS to improve the Pine/ Spruce bike lanes presented to @phillyccra last night. Concrete curbs, planters, no stopping in the bike lane and dedicated loading zones on the parking side. Most objections came from residents who want to 1/
One cyclist death is too many. I was proud to stand with @bcgp this morning to honor the lives we've lost to preventable crashes—and I fully support giving local authorities the power to install parking-protected bike lanes.
Sad that it needs to be restated but for the benefits of my colleagues in the Senate: Mass transit funding helps everyone! #PAHouse did our job in passing funds for mass transit, #PASenate do your job! Fund transportation now! https://t.co/abaJrRvBzL
Throwback to Monday, when I hopped on the L to quickly get to City Hall!
My Council District is the only one where most residents don't use a car to get to work. My constituents are counting on Harrisburg to fully fund SEPTA and keep our communities moving. This is critical!
As I prepare to head back to Harrisburg for the fall, winning full funding for SEPTA remains my #1 budget priority.
When I’m not biking, I take the bus or trolley nearly every day and know how crucial public transportation is for our community.
Senator Saval has been a consistent vocal proponent of public transportation funding, an incredibly strong ally for transit in the State Senate, and is personally a frequent SEPTA rider.

Plans to build an arena in the heart of our city pose an existential threat to Chinatown. Philly doesn’t want an arena here, and neither do I. Proud to join with so many people fighting for their homes, for their neighbors, for this beloved community, and for our city.✊🏾
