@peacock_re80748@thirtyskeletons Exactly. This is normal procedure. They won’t move him to the 60 day list until they need his 40 roster spot for a minor league call up, player claimed off waivers or acquired from trade, etc.
@Orioles_Dubs@masnRoch Chayce definitely has the potential to start at this level, but the Ubaldo-like command will hold him back. Hopefully he can figure it out.
@tchadb21@masnRoch It’ll be longer but it’s not severe enough to warrant an immediate move to the 60 day IL. 10 day frees a 25 man roster spot which all they need to do right now.
@EnzoT_56 @sansone_w @MattAmoruso@Orioles Correct. This isn’t about a possible extension. This is about getting access to the compensatory draft pick should the player sign elsewhere. The team can (and likely will still) work on multi year contracts separately, should one or both of the players be interested.
@GreatThinker81@scotapitzer Jon Miller and Joe Angel was a great tandem from my youth. IIRC Miller and Peter Angelos had a major falling out back near the beginning of the dark times of O’s baseball.
@ShanNarayen@OriolesStatist1 Same. It’s gotten worse as season progressed. Can sign in fine, navigate around fine, but as soon as I choose to start streaming either the MASN or MASN2 channel in the app, I usually get nothing but a black screen.
@Tirc_ONSGaming@KyleB1220@Orioles Agree here. And with this offense, there is no need to rush him up the lineup this year. Let him get some ABs from the bottom of the order and reevaluate for top of the order next season.
@skinnyd___@TDePetris@editti22 His change and break ball are pretty good pitches. And he has more movement on his FB than you realize. Right now, his main challenge is pitch command. Something to work on in AAA.
@Homestead_Pleb@masnRoch I think the team likes to keep that spot open for more flexibility moving players within organization, waiver wire pickups, etc.
