@BBCRadio4 Just listened to thought for the day. As an atheist I usually wince every time I hear it. This morning's was the radio moment of the year so far. An absolutely superb use of song lyrics to acknowledge Band Aid and Live Aid. Congratulations to the author.
@idropcouriers@colinwalker79@guardian Nonsense. Even in November 2024 cap hpi reported that: "In November 2024, second-hand EVs took an average of 33 days to sell, compared to 40 days across all fuel types. Diesel cars took the longest, averaging 42 days". What was it last month?
@hockeybruinsnut@janrosenow Click on the "recycle old battery packs" link in the article you posted. "The fully automated process recovers 95 percent of battery materials, including lithium." Mercedes have it up to 98%.
@hockeybruinsnut@janrosenow Which is simply not true. Batteries are too useful and valuable to "pollute the environment", either as a house battery or recycled. 98% of it can be. Try looking up real facts. They are amazing.
@drolkrad_ehT@ghornerhb@janrosenow Better give up on all the other devices you have with a Lithium battery then. Maybe the one you typed that nonsense on. ๐
@pejo033@alex_avoigt You forgot wind, which does blow at night. Interconnects when it doesn't. Pumped Hydro, batteries are the icing on the cake and EV's could provide enormous capacity, not forgetting domestic solar etc. But that doesn't suit the ridiculous narrative on here.
@ob1ob1ob1@AndyatAuto My opinion is efuels will be as relevant as hydrogen, a dead end. I suspect ICE cars will just go on using standard petrol for decades to come. Getting hold of it at a reasonable price will be the challenge
@richardhorrocks@SkyNews@RichardHammond No it isn't. You clearly haven't researched this anymore than Hammond. Powering the current car fleet with synthetic fuels instead of batteries will require four times as much electricity generation. It would be terribly inefficient and still not be zero carbon emissions.
@colinwalker79@Telegraph His EV experience was so bad, he bought another one. ๐คฆ I've told scammers that their parents would not be proud of them. Do I need to mention this to "journalists" now?
