It would backfire if two or more teams qualify then who would the player play for?

Also teams with weaker leagues will end up with weakest squad compared to other such as IPL...

Mostly players would be in IPL due to great money & also not every league can offer annual contracts except IPL...
Also Cricket Leagues can't run whole year as there's International Cricket throughout the year...

Most of the players play in different franchises in different leagues in Cricket so most franchises will not be able to play with their own squad in such a league if that's to happen ever...
In football teams have same squad...

In Rooney/Ronaldo: Rooney lays it off to CR7 there's no one marking Rooney... He's free to make a run...
In Rashford/Ronaldo after CR7 lays it off defender keeps on marking him so once the ball is returned he's not in a good situation also he ain't prime CR7 🤷‍♂️
