Just out: @CNTI_global's deep dive into media revenue policies around the world -- explored through the lens of full news sustainability, inc. the wide range of ways current policy defines appropriate compensation for usage of digital content: https://t.co/7jSByMTjOI
Hello Friends, as some of you might know we have recently faced multiple attacks, smearing and false claims from individuals and bots online. Some of these seem to be linked to a court case with a journalist we reported about in 2021. While her case is ongoing in Oregon court, our organization and past associates have also been dragged in. Firstly, we are just so sorry to everyone who is being unnecessarily tagged on our behalf, including journalist @Aliceinalbania who has no link to CFWIJ. Alice has not been with us for a long time. We recognize that this tagging is simply a form of harassment widely used by trolls to distract and intimidate organizations and individuals. We must mention in the strictest terms, we do not condone violence or anyone else who does. We would urge those harassing us and our associates, present or past to reconsider their actions and focus their energies to make the world a better, more tolerant and accommodating place for all human beings. This time reminds us of the difficult terrain that is social justice work. In a divided world, we should focus on coming together. The best way to honor our own humanity is to honor the humanity of each other. With that, we send peace, prayers and love to everyone.
1/2 (first - ok I'm back ...) A huge thanks to the incredible group of folks from around the world who took part in @CNTI_global's second convening on AI in Journalism. What a terrific conversation - report coming soon - meanwhile see the participants in the 2/2
On News, Technology and Innovation
Conversation with Amy Mitchell (@asmitch), Executive Director at the Center for News, Technology & Innovation, and Akintunde Babatunde (@olorunwababs), Director of Programs at the Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development. Delving into the impact of generative AI on newsrooms, we explored how AI aligns with journalistic principles while dispelling concerns about job displacement. In our fast-paced digital era, the synergy between news, technology, and innovation is pivotal. At the #MediaAndDevelopment Conference by @CJIDAfrica, Amy shared insights on the transformative power of technology in journalism, emphasizing challenges and opportunities. Grateful for Amy's contribution, I anticipate continued collaboration between @CNTI_global and @CJIDAfrica in shaping a positive future for media innovation. #NewsTechInnovation #MediaConference
