If you're at #JPS2025 in Belgrade, come by our symposium today to explore our latest research on social exclusion and children’s social and moral reasoning. #jeanpiagetsociety
Month after month, the world has watched as Israel treated Palestinians in Gaza as a subhuman group unworthy of human rights and dignity, demonstrating its intent to physically destroy them.
It is an unspeakable tragedy that innocent children continue to be killed by Israeli forces in Gaza, with another 20 children becoming the latest victims of this conflict.
A school being used as a shelter in central Gaza was shelled, killing at least 22 people, including 15 children.
In a separate incident, five children were reportedly killed by a drone strike while playing on a street corner in northern Gaza.
We simply cannot accept the violence that Palestinian children continue to face as normal.
We are continuing to urge the UK government to use their power and influence to secure an immediate, definitive ceasefire, and suspend all arms sales to the Government of Israel.
I don’t like sharing graphic images but I just saw a Palestinian child burning alive trapped under the rubble of Israel’s latest “act of self-defence”. A child. Burning alive.
Happy to share that our paper has just been published in BJDP! It examined children’s and adolescents’ expectations, evaluations, and reasoning about bystander challenging in either intergroup or intragroup social exclusion contexts. https://t.co/vgCXHMoCqd
Several joined the #ISPP2024 business meeting, making three key demands: 1) Form a Palestinian committee to lead statute changes and initiatives; 2) Open a fund to aid Palestinian scholars; 3) Cut ties with Israeli academic institutions, in line with #BDS guidelines.
💔🇵🇸 Dr. Adnan Al Bursh has been MURDERED in an ISRAELI PRISON.
This photo of him went viral after he performed 28 surgeries in one day during the Great March of Return in 2018-2019, when Israeli snipers shot over 6106 Palestinians and killed over 250.
Exactly four months ago, children in Gaza held a press conference in english to beg the world to stop the bombardment. Almost 15,000 children have been killed since then. No one listened.
Our film “No Other Land” on occupied Masafer Yatta’s brutal expulsion won best documentary in Berlinale. Israel’s channel 11 aired this 30 second segment from my speech, insanely called it “anti semitic” - and I’ve been receiving death threats since. I stand behind every word.
The language of dehumanization:
🇮🇱 - Children
🇵🇸 - People under 18
🇮🇱 - Civilians
🇵🇸 - Collateral damage
🇮🇱 - Women and children
🇵🇸 - Human shields
🇮🇱 - Hostages
🇵🇸 - Prisoners
🇮🇱 - Killed
🇵🇸 - Died
🇮🇱 - Attacks
🇵🇸 - Explosions
You don't think #ItsAGenocide?
Fine; I'm not going to argue with you.
What's more important now is that Israeli bombing + four weeks of siege mean 10,000 people in Gaza are dead and who knows how many more will die soon due to lack of medical care, food, & water.
#CeasefireNow
Save the Children has lost contact with its staff in #Gaza with increased airstrikes and internet and mobile phone services cut off. “This is pure horror for all children and their parents,” said Jason Lee, Save the Children’s Country Director in #oPt#CeasefireNOW
